        I had a really disappointing experience at hotel vista. Service was terrible. We unfortunately left the hotel early and stayed elsewhere. The rooms are not fit for anyone on a vacation longer than a weekend. There is no room for luggage and we couldn’t even open our bags. There is no closets or wardrobes to store items if you wish to unpack. I felt completely claustrophobic in the room. It was like a breath of fresh air when we went to our new hotel. The breakfast is the worst I’ve ever had. Small selection and tasted horrible. We had breakfast on the first morning and didn’t return. Cereal was the only edible item. Service was not good. They were unable to secure a taxi for a time later in the evening. We secured it ourselves despite being foreigners and not being used to this countries booking system. When we left the hotel early, the staff were surprised but didn’t enquire as to why we were leaving. We couldn’t locate our second room key and had to much luggage to search in the reception area. The staff member charged us 1000 yen for one key card!! That really left us with a bad taste in our mouth, particularly with our early check out. Thankfully the rest of our trip in Japan has been lovely and hospitable. I will not be recommending hotel vista to anyone.

        Small room. Breakfast buffet was chaotic and stressful, if they could just spread everything out a bit it would be a lot easier. Not much choice of food. Good location for shops, two stops on the underground to Kyoto station. Our housekeeper from Nepal was absolutely lovely and very helpful.

        Fabulous location for exploring and close to stations and plenty of restaurants. Hotel rooms are very small though (as seems to be in Japan) and the bed and pillows not especially comfortable. The staff were great but the breakfast was only OK.

        Central and well equipped hotel. Rooms are small but have everything you might need. We did struggle to find space to put two suitcases in the room. Breakfast is either the traditional Japanese set menu (pictured) or a small Western buffet. Staff are excellent and incredibly helpful.

        Staff lovely.. rooms in the right side after being in its sister hotel in Hiroshima no comparison in terms of size of room. Lovely quiet area but only 10 mins walk from nishiki.
