Nice clean comfortable room , very good size. The staff were very helpful. Good restaurant and bar. It's about a 15 min flat walk into the old centre which is wonderful. Underground parking is available. Would recommend.

My apologies to the hotel for originally giving a one-star rating. I accidentally hit submit without realizing it. An honest mistake. I have updated the rating. It is based on these factors: (1) The elevator button to our floor completely fell off the panel, so we could not select it to get to our room. Fortunately, we were on the first floor and were able to take the stairs. (2) The room main electrical outlet located on the desk was not working. (3) There was a big yellow stain on the mattress topper's edge, and the room had a strong musty smell. But once the air conditioning was on for a bit, it helped with alleviating the smell. It would be nice if the air conditioning was turned on in the room, like some other hotels, before the guests arrived. The best part was the hotel location, which is walking distance from the central part of the town. Overall, it appears regular up-keep haven't been done for some time.

There were too many faults with this room, including an air-con that didn't work and a bathroom heater that didn't work. Lots of other minor faults that I reported to the manager by email - I have not received ANY response (5 days later).

I was generally pleased with this property. The rooms were well-appointed for the price point. Somewhat oddly, the Mercure shares the building with Ibis; down one hall are Mercure rooms and down the other are Ibis. Parking is charged hourly and is separate from the room bill. This is very cost effective as the rate is comparatively good. The location is ok; there aren't many restaurants nearby and the cathedral is a 15-20 minute walk. The property's restaurant is not rated well, so I did not try it. Breakfast, served in a different area, was good. Staff were fine and spoke English.
