Great hotel, with renovated, spacious, and comfortable rooms. The highlight was the breakfast which had a variety of fish, fresh local vegetables, and both western and Japanese food. Tasted better than many restaurants! We miss the curry already. Hotel staff is very welcoming and helpful as well. The only downside was the training station entrance which has regular stairs only, so it's not luggage friendly. I also hope that the management finds a better solution for the lobby coffee, it's great (Nespresso), but it's frequently out of service. But the positives absolutely outweigh the negatives and make this a great stay!

We had a great stay. The rooms are very comfortable and well equipped with no noise from the street or corridor. The laundry machines are very useful and the Family Mart and COOP 3 minutes away has all the snacks you need. Will definitely return. 5 Stars

Best Hyatt Place on Earth - by far! This hotel is new and extremely well appointed for the Hyatt Place brand. I would qualify it similarly to Hyatt Regency, at minimum, instead. Standard king room is roomy (American sized) and have great decor. The bathroom is very roomy too. Hotel is very centrally located. Easy walk to the imperial palace and Nijo Castle. Subway station immediately below the hotel to get to Old Kyoto in 2-4 stops. Some great local restaurants in the neighborhood behind the hotel. Paid $175 a night, and searching on Hyatt’s website, have seen it for much lower than that. A overall great value. If I ever return to Kyoto, I won’t even search for a second option.

We embarked on a 3 week long trip visiting different cities including Tokyo, Kyoto, Ho Chih Minh, Paris, Istanbul. This hotel was my favorite of the around 6 hotels we visited. The breakfast was amazing, the hotel was immaculately clean, and the staff was not just extremely respectful but also very kind, helpful, welcoming. I loved the provisions provided in the lobby (lotions, toothbrushes, hairbrushes, espresso machines). The rooms were so nice: very comfy beds, the tub was so clean I actually took a nice soak on one of my nights there. I would absolutely return to this hotel whenever I return to Kyoto.

The hotel is newly opened so everything is clean and nice. Right next to subway, easy access to everywhere, a few convenience stores nearby. They don’t have a restaurant, but you can order Ubereats and use the dining area. Remember to check the nearby restaurant list they provide at front desk, very helpful. Room is not as big as I expected from their website pics but still enough. Bathroom is very spacious and clean too. Our room was right next to elevator so I was worried at first, but it turned out to be very quiet during our whole stay. Some rooms are facing the inside garden so you can’t really see anything from the window but for travelers it should be fine. Great service and attitude too, helped receive and send our luggage with Yamato delivery with no problem.
