        The Ibis was booked as it was one of the closest hotels for our visit to the Palace Theatre, and was just a one night stay. It was also reasonably priced. I dropped my bag off early in the day and was greeted by a pleasant and helpful young lady. However all other contact with staff members was very poor. Upon check-in there was no welcome whatsoever, and we were made to feel that we were actually an inconvenience even though there was no-one else waiting. It was a similar experience at check-out. Unfortunately this really impacts on guests impression of their overall stay. The room was compact but clean. The beds and pillows were hard and only a thin duvet and sheet provided as bedding. Fortunately the air conditioning/heating was efficient and we were reasonably warm. I have stayed in Accor hotels in many destinations over the years, but unfortunately have to say that this Ibis is the worst one by far.

        It's a shame really that I can't give 5*. The location is great, staff are very helpful and the ambience in reception is excellent. The downside is that you have to walk across to Novotel hotel for breakfast. This is still not too much of a problem as it is close by. The bigger issue I had was that there was no hand towel and the shower was absolutely terrible! The shower pressure at best was a trickle! Not what you expect in a hotel chain that should have set standards!

        Stayed here for just the night, unfortunately we had to cut the visit short due to trains. The hotel is in a brilliant location for exploring Manchester and in good proximity to both Oxford Road and Piccadilly, plus trams. Ryan? (The guy with curly hair) on reception was great, had a really good chat and was very informative. He was helpful throughout our short stay and is a credit to the hotel. The rooms are spacious, a little dated but they are clean and are perfect for a few nights stay, certainly better than other Ibis I've stayed in. We had a rear facing room on the 3rd floor and it was very quiet. There is a 24hr bar/kitchen and when we went to get our welcome drink the bartender (not sure on name, he was new to the hotel) was really friendly and happy to help us. The TVs have smart connection which is a huge bonus, and there is extra pillows available in the room.

        to start with there is two ibis hotels on the same street which was very confusing. the room was nice and tidy, but the sink in the bathroom was dirty, the toilet would not flush, the remote control wouldn't work for the television and the fire alarm was set off from leaving the bathroom door open following a shower, which would have been nice to know! checkout was 12pm, however our card was already turned off for 11.30, which they sorted quickly. breakfast was good and staff were quite helpful.

        Rooms were great and check in and out was swift and easy. Evening staff on the bar were rude, didn't use measures to pour drinks and looked like they had no clue to what they were doing.
