We took a taxi to terminal 1. The taxi rate from the centre of Madrid has now increased to 33€ since Jan 1 2024. The taxi driver said it was the first increase in 12 years. We were going to take the airport bus like I usually do (5€) from Atocha but this time we needed to be a little faster and it was more convenient. Everything went fine at the airport.

While I've never been a fan of Madrid airport, my recent experience yesterday has solidified my belief that it stands among the least favorable airports in Europe, despite its extensive marketing efforts. As usual, the airport displayed a notable lack of organization, with untrained and incompetent staff, making it less accessible. My initial frustration arose as I spent a staggering 40 minutes navigating the control queue for a connecting flight. This inconvenience was exacerbated by the inadequate setup of just one magnetic arch and one x-ray scanner, a decision that seemed oblivious to the airport's high traffic. The security personnel, in addition to their inefficiency, displayed rudeness and verbal abuse (to me and other passengers in the queue), creating an uncomfortable atmosphere reminiscent of a bygone era. Their authoritarian behavior appeared unjustified, exemplified by their insistence on quick movement for someone with a mobility issue, coupled with a demand to remove shoes due to the absence of advanced security measures adopted by other international airports. To add to the ordeal, the limited space for checked luggage led to a security staff member carelessly tossing my belongings on the floor, akin to a disposable item. Such behavior should ideally be addressed and rectified by airport management, but unfortunately, it seems to be the accepted norm at Madrid's airport. It is disheartening to witness such a lack of professionalism and kindness in one of Europe's major hubs. Unless Madrid airport is the only viable option, I strongly recommend considering alternative airports for a more comfortable and welcoming flight connection.

Airport definitely needs an upgrade and a good connection network between terminals. It’s been patched up over the years and some terminals are at least half an hour away If not more! Plus the design of the old and new terminals makes a very eclectic ugly design. Could do with better signage as well.

Everything is working properly, perfect connections between terminals T4, the newest one and T1, the oldest one. Of course, T4 is a real "State of the Art" in terms of design, structural features and technology, typically español masterpiece. Despite of its age, terminal T1 has its freshness in terms of functionality and its internal spaces and compartments. Even with an pretty old design, the quality of details in this T1 terminal still providing a comfortable and efficient service to all of its clients.

Very busy just after Christmas. However all the queues moved quickly and staff were very efficient. It's a huge airport, so always give yourself more time than you think to get to the actual gate. Also, there are no verbal announcements, so keep a close watch of the boards.

Booking Policy

It is mandatory for all guests to present valid government photo ID’s at the time of check-in.

The primary guests check-in into the hotel must meet the age requirements set by either the local government or the hotel’s policies.

Extra guests are subject to availability. And it might incur additional charges.

If guests are traveling with a child or children, it is necessary to specify the number of children accompanying them during the hotel booking process to avoid any last-minute complications.

Underage guests are only allowed to check-in with at least one parent or official guardian who fulfils the age requirements set by either the local government or the hotel’s policies.

Early check-in or late check-out request is subject to availability and the hotel may charge an additional fee for providing such services.

The price paid to Adani One includes room charges, taxes, the specified inclusions mentioned during the booking and convenience fee, if appliable. It does not cover additional services and expenses at the hotel.

Taxes, levies, charges, and any similar government fees, if applicable, will be imposed by the relevant authorities in the jurisdiction where the hotel is located. The guest is responsible for paying all such charges, as applicable.

Guests are required to adhere to any special instructions provided by the hotel. Failure to comply may result in the hotel's right to deny the booking or terminate the stay immediately.

Hotel Cancellation Policy

User can cancel their booking through the Adani One website or app until the check-in date and time. The refund for such cancellations will be subject to the hotel's cancellation policy. Adani One has no say over the refund amount.

Users can only cancel the entire booking. Partial cancellations, such as canceling specific room(s), a portion of the total nights, or specific guests out of the entire group, are not permitted.

User should not cancel the booking directly with the hotel. If a user cancels the booking directly with the hotel, Adani One will not be responsible for any refund.

Cancellation requests made through the online platform or via phone calls are the only valid and accepted methods.

Any cancellation requests made directly to the hotel will not be the responsibility of Adani One.

If you fail to cancel your reservation within the designated cancellation period, as specified by the hotel you booked, you will be responsible for paying the applicable nightly rates, tax recovery charges, and service fees imposed by the hotel. If you do not show up for the first night of your reservation but still plan to check in for the remaining nights, you must inform Adani One of any changes to your reservation no later than the scheduled arrival date for the first night. This is necessary to prevent the cancellation of your entire reservation.

In case of no show at the hotel, you'll be charged the entire booking amount.

Modification and Reschedule Policy

Once the booking is initiated, the user can’t change the name of primary guest, number of guests, age of child/children, number of rooms, and check-in/check-out date and time.

After the booking is confirmed, user will need to cancel their existing booking to create a new one to make any changes such as updating the primary guest, modifying the number of guests, specifying the age of child/children, adjusting the number of rooms, or changing the check-in/check-out date and time etc.
