I had high expectations for this hotel on my trip, but I was deeply disappointed. I booked it because of the lagoon pool, but it was out of service for the duration of my stay. We were not told of this until at the time of check-in and they were unclear on how long the repair would take. There was no compensation offered for this inconvenience. Additionally, the room had lighting issues; except for the reading light, none of the lights worked, forcing us to eat in the dark on our first evening. Although a repairman visited, the issue couldn’t be resolved immediately. It was fixed the next day, but there was no follow-up or compensation for the inconvenience we experienced. The check-in process was handled by an inexperienced trainee, who failed to inform us of the checkout time and couldn’t answer queries about children’s breakfast options (we had to go down and ask again to get this information). The popcorn and cotton candy promised at the pool were of very poor quality, almost like scraped-together leftovers. We also found ants on the bed in our room, which was unsettling. For a 5-star hotel, the level of service and response felt unworthy of even 4 stars. As a fan of Marriott, this experience was a huge letdown. Would definitely not recommend and would not return again when we’re back in Gold Coast.

The JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa is a beautiful hotel, from the first moment you walk into the gorgeous modern lobby; to the first time you see the incredible saltwater lagoon; and to that first step inside your luxurious, comfortable bedroom. But even with the beautiful property, delicious food options (my god that breakfast buffet!), and extremely comfortable rooms- what made this trip a total 10/10 was 100% due to the exceptional service of the front desk staff member Holley. Holley elevated my and my husband's experience to a total 11/10 from the very first night. She made us feel incredibly welcome and valued as soon as we checked in, and whenever we saw her throughout our stay she made it a point to come check on us and see if we were absolutely thrilled with everything. She gave us tips for the area, recommendations for restaurants, and just some honest great conversation. I didn't feel like a normal hotel guest, I felt like I was being welcomed into her home. Despite all my hotel stays in the past, it was the first time I've ever felt so welcomed in a hotel. She was a complete angel! So Holley, if you see this, thank you for making our trip so very, very memorable! We wish you and the entire hotel staff all the best, and we cannot wait to come back for our next trip back to Australia!

What a hotel from the moment you walk in it is really a 5 star service, front desk was lovely and so accommodating to our requests. Rooms were clean and lovely. Pool is next level we were travelling with 2 kids couldn't recommend it more. Definitely get to this hotel if you can it was worth every dollar spent

I had a delightful High Tea experience at Marriott with my coworkers. The exquisite selection of sweet and savoury treats, paired with freshly baked scones served with cream and jam, made it a culinary delight. The overall experience was exceptional, and I highly recommend it. The staff, particularly the reception personnel, were incredibly nice and addressed my parking concerns with great care.
