        I didn't stay here but it's a great place. There is a new museum of art. I saw one room, very clean 1550 NPR in off season. Staff is friendly and helpful to English speakers. Good location for tourists and first time foreigners. I've known about this place for years.

        I stayed for five days. I was assigned a room in the older building. The room is very dated, the floor rags are so worn out and not very clean, the wooden door no longer perfectly fits the frame and the door knob keeps getting stuck. I always have difficulty opening and locking my door. In my last day, the shower didn't work. No water was coming out and I don't know if the pressure is so low or if the know was broken. The faucet is running water but there is no pail, so taking a bath was difficult. Other than the room, I found the hotel a charming place to stay in. I like the courtyard with outdoor seating, restaurant, shops and museum. The restaurant though is expensive but it's a good thing that the hotel has excellent location with lots of cafes/bars/restos and even thrift shops just outside the gates. I also like that there is in-house money-changer. I believe this is a very convenient place to stay for tourists/visitors.

        First the good part: It is located at the tourist hub on Kathmandu, the rooms are good and cleanliness is manageable. The food is not extra ordinary, but there are enough varieties. Having said that, unless you are a foreigner, be prepared to be treated by the staff with contempt. I had booked a two day stay and had pre-informed that I will be arriving late (around 10 PM), however when I checked-in and asked if I could be served dinner, I was told there is no service after 9PM and it was pointed out that since I was in Thamel, I would have no problem finding food outside. The funny part was, when I entered the elevator, I found a waiter carrying drinks and snacks to some room. Then around 11 PM, I returned to the reception lobby and asked for a matchbox which they blatantly refused to provide saying it can’t be provided after 9 PM. Being the patient, introvert I am, I let it go rather than confront them. I checked out after the 2 days but I had to extend my stay for a day and having not learnt from my experience, I rebooked. When I arrived at around 5 PM, the receptionist insisted that this time around, I will now have to pay in advance for my stay. He took me to the billing counter, but the accountant was on break so for some reason now I could pay when I check out. The whole vibe made me feel as if they were doing me a favor by allowing me to stay there. The entire staff seemed eager to please 'foreigners' but apparently I was deemed unworthy of their hospitality.

        they should really work on changing the name of the hotel because it's pretty amazing. the rooms are great, if you go deluxe and above. they have this garden in the middle which is really pretty.

        The location is excellent, but rooms are tiny and toilets are microscopic. Bathrooms do not even have towel holders or rings. They lag behind in cleaning the rooms. Breakfast doesn't even have enough items. But the location is excellent.

          Modification and Reschedule Policy
