        Traditional restaurant with their famous fresh cooking of eels. I order the large eel rice bowl. It was very delicious. Be careful with small fish bone. I think they have the bone because it was fresh. Those pre-cooked eel from other places do not have this kind of issue. But I love the freshness of the dishes. You have to have appointment to dine-in!

        This is a Michelin star restaurant as I recall. We visited here back in 2019. We were super lucky since usually the place requires reservations a few weeks ahead of time, but we got lucky and the restaurant told us that they had a table available for walk-in on the next day, although they didn’t take the reservation anymore at that point. It’s like a first come first grab table. So we went there half an hour ahead of time and got our table. The unagi was juicy and delicious. One of the best dishes we had in Japan.

        Ordered large unadon and unagi liver. I walked in shortly after the opening hour. Even they were fully booked, they kindly let me in for 1 person and I had the whole restaurant by myself. The service was good and I could communicate using basic English. I had unagi before and I like it. About this restaurant, the unagi I got was not much different from what I had before. Therefore, it was over-priced. The eel was soft (so you can compare Kyoto crispy style) and there was no charcoal smell. First time I tried grilled eel liver and it was good as apertizer with sake.

        I had an incredibly frustrating experience trying to book a reservation at this restaurant. We arrived on 29th September with the intention of making a reservation for November, only to be told that November reservations would open on 1st October. Fair enough, we thought, and returned on 1st October. However, our troubles didn't end there. Upon arriving, the waiter informed us that they only accept reservations through phone calls. Being Malaysians visiting Japan, we faced a language barrier and couldn't speak Japanese fluently. We explained our situation, mentioning that we had tried to call but received no response. I attempted to use Google Translate to communicate, but to our dismay, the waiter refused to cooperate and stated that she couldn't assist us. Furthermore, the waiter even mentioned that only those who speak Japanese can successfully make a reservation, further compounding our frustration and disappointment with the booking process. This entire booking experience was beyond terrible, and it left us feeling frustrated and unwelcome. It's disheartening when language barriers hinder potential customers from enjoying what could have been a great dining experience.

          It is mandatory for all guests to present valid government photo ID’s at the time of check-in.
