        Great location in the centre of Kyoto, walkable distance to various metro station and shopping malls in the Kyoto, also surrounded by many restaurants serving with good food. But the main concern is the limited room space, the room is bit small for 3 person, the luggages cannot be widely opened, besides this concern everything is good in this hotel:)

        Highly recommended. The location is good enough, which is just 6-7 mins to Karasuma station. I stayed for a night on the weekend for less than 10,000¥. I was able to check in earlier for free of charge, which was very surprising as Japanese hotels usually do not allow you to check in earlier even if rooms are ready. The room is well designed and the service is great. The breakfast can be purchased at the front desk, but since there are many restaurants near the hotel that offer breakfast, you have many choices.

        We had a great 3-day stay at Kyoto Itoya Hotel. The bus stop and subway station entrance were at a comfortable walking distance. It is centrally located, with many areas easily accessible by walking or taking the a bus/subway. The hotel is decorated nicely; I love that the rooms keys are grouped based on colors. It made the reception look catchy and beautiful. The room was a comfortable size, not too tight (compared to our more expensive hotel in Tokyo). The bathroom and shower areas were actually spacious. A Family Mart a min walk down the street while Lawson and 7 Eleven were a few min away. They provided us with two clean robes to use during our stay. Do keep in mind that they don’t clean rooms daily. They will come in daily and change out towels, empty the trash, and leave two bottles of water but don’t make the bed, vacuum (even though it looked visibly very dirty) or give clean robes. Despite this, we enjoyed our stay at Itoya.

          It is mandatory for all guests to present valid government photo ID’s at the time of check-in.
