        I had an incredible stay at La Maltese Estate and visited BuddhaBar many times for breakfast, cocktails and dinner. First, about the hotel… they have new rooms with very beautiful design, deep pool and great service. It was quiet, cozy and I slept really well there. The mattress was exceptional and really comfortable. Next the restaurant… breakfast was above and beyond, cocktails are the best in Santorini and dinner was extraordinary with the magnificent sunset.

        Do not stay here. I am not one to give negative reviews but this was the worst hotel experience of my life and for the sake of other brides and travellers this needs to be shared. I had my wedding ceremony at La Maltese on September 23. I booked their two largest suites (Sept 22-24) one for myself and one for my husband to get ready with our wedding parties on the day of the wedding. I paid the full amount in advance and confirmed multiple times with the manager via email that we indeed have secured the two largest suites as we would need the space for our wedding parties. This booking was also reflected in my wedding contract with La Maltese. Upon checking in the night before the wedding, they gave my husband their smallest room which was tiny and clearly not what I had booked. When I brought this to the attention of the front desk, the manager was unapologetic and told us that the room I had booked and paid for was occupied.. He did not offer us anything to make this right, he simply said he would get us into the larger room the next day before the wedding. He did not refund us the price difference for the night. The way this was handled was wrong, and I am disappointed that such an oversight occurred especially when we are booked these rooms for a wedding and I confirmed the booking multiple times in writing. Now it gets even worse.... I went to take a shower in my suite the night before my wedding day and the shower FLOODED INTO MY ROOM where my wedding dress was hanging and nearly soaked the dress. I managed to save the dress just in time. When I went to the front desk to have someone come address the water issue, the hotel staff looked at me and told me he would not clean it and that I could go to the front desk for towels. When I went upstairs, several staff members were all just sitting around smoking and chatting, yet no one offered to help me with the water issue, so I ended up having to soak it up the best I could with the towels I was given. I can not believe this is how they treat their guests, let alone one of their brides the night before the event. I am disgusted by the service, particularly of the manager. After the ceremony while I was doing wedding photos with my husband, the manager had the audacity to approach me after everything that had happened and asked if we could would move our things out of one of our suites so he could prepare the room for other guests, even though I had paid for the room until the next morning. I am just appalled with the management and overall service at this place. The location and ceremony space were beautiful but everything else was a disappointment. Don’t let the advertisement fool you.

        Never again. Great location but hot tubs are cheap and not very well cleaned. showers is not working well, There was a big hole in the wall of the bathroom. And besides, we did not had our room the first night. Manager Invented an excuse to give the room to other guests of a marriage organized in the hotel. For the first night Relocated us in a lower grade hotel with no view. Did not provide any compensation for the lost of privilege. For a room of 600$ CAD/night, we expected much more.

        Avoid - overpriced, poor quality - Disappointing Stay at La Maltese My recent stay at La Maltese Estate in Santorini left me utterly disappointed and frustrated. While the allure of the stunning island and breathtaking views initially drew me to this establishment, the overall experience fell far short of expectations. One of the most glaring issues was the exorbitant price point for the quality of the accommodations. For a supposedly luxurious getaway, the mismatch between the price and the actual experience was glaringly evident. Moreover, the noise emanating from the bar until 11-12 at night turned the supposedly serene escape into what felt like a chaotic nightclub. This incessant noise made it nearly impossible to get a good night's sleep, a crucial element of any relaxing vacation. Adding to the woes were the hot tubs, which turned out to be nothing more than plastic inflatables. To make matters worse, these tubs were riddled with white spiders, hair, and fluff from previous guests, completely negating any sense of cleanliness or comfort. The room itself was a shockingly dismal sight. Marketed as a honeymoon suite, it was anything but romantic. The absence of windows left the space feeling claustrophobic and unwelcoming. The deteriorating condition of the room was evident in the broken mirror frame and the toilet, which still had tissue and paper floating in the cistern, giving off a sense of negligence and a lack of attention to detail. What truly pushed this experience into the realm of the unbearable was the attitude of the staff. Unhelpful and unfriendly, they flatly refused to consider moving us to another room or offering a refund. The lack of basic courtesy was reflected even during breakfast, where the staff didn't bother to greet guests. The Owener, who I interacted with over the phone, was particularly rude, unhelpful, and even aggressive. In summary, La Maltese Estate was, without a doubt, the worst place I've stayed in Santorini. The steep price tag, coupled with the subpar accommodations, noise disturbance, unclean amenities, and uncooperative staff, made this experience a colossal disappointment. I would strongly advise against considering this establishment for a vacation, as it simply isn't worth the money or the hassle.

        Absolutely loved the location! Perfect to see the sunset and the Caldera view! Also perfect location for a wedding venue! There were two weddings whilst we were there and the decor was absolutely divine!

          It is mandatory for all guests to present valid government photo ID’s at the time of check-in.
