        I was initially very put off by the really negative reviews here, but ended up keeping my booking as I wanted to give this place a chance. I did end up having a really nice stay here! I stayed in room number 3 which was spacious and comfortable. Bathroom was a good size and it was decorated nicely with a nice balcony snd view of the Main Street below. If doors were closed it wasn’t loud at night. The location is great, right in the city centre and near the castle. The only things I would say which can be improved are: - housekeeping service wasn’t every day, it should be. And they didn’t change towels - no where to hang towels up in the bathroom - walls are paper thin, I could hear everything from the other rooms and I am sure they could hear me too. If you want more privacy this isn’t the place for you - hallway on entry to guesthouse is very dark upstairs, install a light for safety please!

        Right in the centre of everything. Close to Castle, Squares , Tram no 28, Sea front , bars , restaurants. Room very clean and tidy with balcony. Kitchen area has all you need for your stay . Linen changed regularly. Shower room excellent ( except leak at shower door needs looking at before it destroys the wooden floor in the hall .....small job to fix it )

        The location is the best point about this place. You can walk from the train station down to the Alfama district and back. You can see all of the touristy places in walking distance. Otherwise, we didn’t love it so much that we would stay again. If you arrive to the Google maps location you will not be able to get in. Plain green doors with no signage at the street. You must check in and deal with everything from the FLH Hotel across the street. Unfortunately we didn’t receive check-in instructions or access codes by email. No safe, fridge or coffee maker in the room. There was a kitchen but no one explained to us what to use. There was a box of open instant coffee but we didn’t know if that just belonged to another guest. We found the bathroom was not very clean, with toothpaste lining the bathroom cup and mold on the inside of the shower (as pictured). Handle for sink was missing a piece. Hair dryer provided. This was okay but for the price I think you probably could get better service elsewhere. Hard to beat the location though.

        This hotel/guesthouse cannot manage the number of guests it currently has. When my friend and I arrived, it took us over 20 minutes just to be seen by the front desk to check-in. Then once we went to our room it has clearly not been cleaned. The room was an absolute mess with the sheets as if they had just been slept in. The kitchen we waited in was dirty with trash bags piling up and smelt bad. We complained our room was not ready, just to be told to come back later. This is unacceptable if you have checked in a guest already. My friend and I ended up waiting an entire hour after begging the cleaning lady to please clean our room next. The front desk never did anything else to check in with us or make sure we were satisfied after our horrendous check-in experience. Will never stay here again. For the price, there are many better options in Lisbon.

        Worst place I've ever stayed Room condition is not bad, but there is no communication with the host. Additionally, someone tried to open my room door last night, and this morning my room password was changed and I couldn't get into my room for close to an hour! And the host still hasn't contacted me. If the other guests hadn't helped me, the rest of my day would have been a mess! If you have any problems, go to the memoria Hotel, not the host, and ask for help.

          It is mandatory for all guests to present valid government photo ID’s at the time of check-in.
