        I can only give praise to this hotel. We dropped off our bags early before checkin. The staff was super helpful and friendly. The rooms are really clean and tidied every day. Breakfast selection is not huge but still very good. Staff is always available 24/7 to give a helping hand when needed. For the price I highly recommend this place.

        A perfectly placed hotel for a trip to Edinburgh! It's about a 10-minute walk from Princes Street and a few minutes walk from the tram line, making it easy to get around. The staff were all so helpful and welcoming. My only (small) complaint would be the ventilation in the rooms, the bathroom fans weren't very effective and it smelt a little damp sometimes when we came back to the room after a day of sightseeing. But it's easily fixed by opening a window! Regardless, I'd recommend it as a great place to stay for a trip to Edinburgh and will be back again soon.

        During my two-week stay at this hotel, I found that the actual hotel room did not match the depiction provided on its website. The facilities appeared aged and somewhat neglected, and the room itself felt outdated. In terms of value for money, it did not quite meet the expectations set by its online presentation. However, it did prove to be a comfortable and suitable place for living and resting. On a positive note, the complimentary breakfast was excellent, and the service I received was of a high standard. One notable feature is the availability of a bell at the front desk, which promptly summons a black cab when needed.

        Very disappointing stay. The photos on the website do not reflect this hotel. The rooms are old and grubby, bathroom needs a deep clean and renovation. Shower leaking so floor gets flooded, especially after 3 people showering. No pressure in the shower. Carpet in the room definitely needs replacing. When we were out, the beds were made, but it stopped there. No hoovering done, dirty tea cups not replaced, tea tray not topped up, no replacement toilet paper. I brought this to the attention of a friendly receptionist who happily gave me tea bags and milk. The breakfast was a complete circus. I paid for breakfast to be included in our stay, and each morning we struggled to get a fraction of that breakfast. The hot food should be checked regularly and topped up when getting low. This is fairly simple practice in hospitality. Not left completely empty for up to 20 minutes. Anytime anyone asked a member of staff for the hot food to be topped up, they were met with attitude, then left waiting. When checking out I brought this to the very friendly receptionists attention, who generously offered me a half price refund on our breakfasts. Rafiq in the bar was very friendly, chatty and helpful. Jonas unfortunately needs training in customer service. Not one bit friendly. As a manager myself of 21 years, working with the public, if he was on my team, I would not have him face to face with customers. He seems like a very good worker, but just not what you expect from a bar tender. We are all entitled to an off day but this was 3 solid days. Hotel is in a great location.

        Good points, Location, handy for the train and getting into central Edinburgh even on foot. Off street Parking: which is not to expensive based in Edinburgh prices, Staff: All were very polite and helpful. Room ok no complaints. Not so good points: Breakfast: ok I suppose but felt it could be much better, Reception: very very busy at times: Lifts: very very slow, Decor: looking tired , stains on the carpets and the figures in the picture are covered in dust and cobwebs.
