Leonardo Hotel London Watford

Upon arrival, we were greeted kindly from the receptionist. I found majority of the staff to be helpful and to be in good spirit. The room we stayed in didn’t seem to match accurately to the one that was displayed in the pictures provided. The bathroom is very small and the shower is even smaller. Quite a few hairs lying around but other than that - the room and bathroom was clean. I wish the hotel would have added a note on their website about there being construction going on outside. The noise started at 6am in the morning, not very convenient if one would like to get up later or look out the window without seeing a builders @ss! The AC was faulty/broken. We did call downstairs about this and were promised someone would be up in the next 30 minutes for it to be fixed. We waited 1 hour and decided to go out and explore as the weather was 30 degrees at the time. We did tell reception before walking out we were still waiting for the Ac to be fixed and gave them our room number for it to be fixed before we get back. After a couple of hours, we returned to still find no one had fixed the ac. We called downstairs to reception again and asked for this to be fixed - they said give them 30 minutes. We decided to order some food whilst we waiting - the food got to the room first after 45 minutes and still no one about the ac. We waited another 30 minutes before we rang downstairs again. Finally, what seemed to be the manager was at the door to see the problem. He came with some ladders and said it was a two man job - we explained we have been waiting for hours and if it would be possible to change rooms. “Sorry, we are fully booked” was his reply. He came back with one of the handy men to fix the ac - this man’s words were “who was it that fitted this one?” As something obviously wasn’t right. After 10 minutes it was finally fixed..Until the morning came and it wasn’t working again, showing us the same error - we gave up after calling another 4/5 times. The location of the hotel was really good in all honesty. Right round the corner from the local markets, the town centre and a lovely shopping mall or two. Not to mention it’s walking distance from and to the train station. Not including the location, I’d say this wouldn’t be our choice of hotel to stay at again if we ever came back to Watford. We traveled a long way to see Warner Bros Studio Tour for Harry Potter (which was brilliant) - giving how hot it was, we would of liked some ac during our stay and not having to chase around for this to be fixed. Unfortunately, we won’t be staying again.
