Hello y’all, has I write this I am sitting in the hotel restaurant. It is very cool and very old school. I was here night before and the beer was good but hands down the best onion soup I have ever had. Came back for coffee while waiting for a train out of town. They even have the blues playing in the background. I did not stay here so I can not speak of the rooms. I do know this, get the onion soup. The waiters are cool. Good luck

I absolutely adored my time at this enchanting hotel! The rooms, so warm and snug, were impeccably maintained, exuding a delightful, traditional inn ambiance. The dining space was adorned with interesting artifacts, contributing to the distinct atmosphere. The scenery was awe-inspiring, and the morning meal was a delightful spread offering a variety of choices. It truly felt like a tranquil oasis in the heart of the city. I truly wish I could have prolonged my visit. The attentive hotel staff ensured swift and attentive service, and the fusion of German and Italian cuisines was delectable. The captivating ambiance, coupled with the view of the Rhine river, was an added bonus! The well-maintained rooms catered to all needs, and the opportunity to relish Bavarian and Kölsch beers was a delightful indulgence. A definite recommendation for those eager to explore the charms of the Old Town!

Found this restaurant by accident on a cold November night. It was warm and cosy. Staff were welcoming and efficient. Good range of choices on menu. Food and beer were excellent.

This December I visit köln for the Christmas with my wife and her sister with her husband. We went for two days and we wanted to eat a typical German meal like schnitzel. We searched for a while when we saw this typical German building with the restaurant löwenbräu köln. The interior looked very German and the first look at the menu did decided us to good eat here. It was very busy but after 20 minutes waiting we could go to our table. When we looked at the menu we were supplied to see that a normal carpaccio was 18 euro (online is this 14.90) . This is for Germany very expansive. This did us decide to order a bread with butter as appetizer. But they did not have this kind of appetizer. We decided to order just a main course. We ordered the schnitzel with fries and two beers, a red wine and a Riesling wine. Both the wines were more then 8 euro for each glass. Again for German standards expensive. The red wine was also not nice. It was poor quality. We received the schnitzel and we were a bit shocked by the size. I eat a lot in Germany and the size was small. Also the quantity of fries was not much. We ordered two new portions. We needed to wait on these fries until our schnitzel was already gone. These portions were also not fried good. Beside this the bottle of water was already opened which did us think it was refilled. When I needed to pay the waiter was surprised that we did not gave him a tip. I need to tell him 3 times I wasn't going to give him a tip. Bill 155 euro without tip for 4 persons. Overall impression is expensive, poor quality, small potions and not a kind staff.

It is mandatory for all guests to present valid government photo ID’s at the time of check-in.
