        Majestic FILTHY - Deplorable & Dirty Room Hygiene Conditions. Simply dirty and filthy room conditions. Several areas with accumulates dust, including air-condition, fire alarms; dark mould accumulated in outdated dirty bath; several liquid marks (coffee, juices, etc) sticking around chair, desk, mini-fridge, etc; Leak around air-condition; Several spider webs in the room ceiling. It was simply the worst and dirtiest hotel room I ever stayed! Took several photos and brought to reception staff who was dismissive, said that 'hotel was very busy' and only said 'sorry' Very weak WiFi. Had to work for 3 days and WiFi could not handle basic video calls. My work mobile 4G tethering worked out better. Key card to access the room failed every day (had to return again & again to get replacement).

        I paid for an upgraded room, but received a standard room upon checking in. I had to argue for 15 minutes about this issue before they relented and gave me the 'right' room. Rooms are abysmal. Cooking staff here do not wear masks around the food. I found this to be dangerous and unforgivable. How to trust the hygiene? Covid-19 is ravaging Brazil presently, and they don't seem to 'care' to manage it. Never again - NOT recommended!

        It's an easy address to get at and not too far from the beach. But, the night staff is not that kind and dates showed on it's website aren't exactly the ones asked on the check in. As extra costs asked, and pool access. So, it's better to check every information gave on websites and e-mails.

        Sticking to facts describing this hotel is hard since this was one of the worst stays I have ever experienced. In summary, this hotel did everything to keep our payment and to avoid taking responsibility, probably because they knew we were just travelling through. Also, the hotel was contacted after our experience, denying us a refund of our whole stay. - Service We had ordered a double-bed room via Hotels.com. When we arrived, we received a room with 3 single beds. When we complained, we were told the hotel was fully booked and nothing could be done. After standing our ground, suddenly there were rooms available. We got an "upgrade" (in other words, what we had initially payed for)... to a room with two single beds. When asked for the correct room again, we finally got a room with a double-bed, only this time, the WiFi was shut off on this floor. - Cleaning The worst part and reason for our immediate departure from the hotel (we did not sleep there even one night). First, all the rooms (we got to see three of them) were in very bad shape with uncleaned stains on floors, furniture and walls. Secondly, and a big warning-sign, was finding silverfish (insects) on the floor (usually a good sign of bad cleaning and standard of the hotel). We did however consider our stay one night, and when we were going to bed we found it was filled with unexplainable small black round balls (not sure what this was). After complaining about this, the hotels answer was to give us new sheets that we should change ourselves. This was ultimately the reason for us leaving. When we were given sheets, we noticed they kept pillows on the floor in the storage, without any protection. - Standard The standard of the rooms do not represent the 3 stars they claim to have. It is clear, after had observed 3 separate rooms, that the whole hotel is run down. Marks on the floor, walls and on the furniture all shows this is the case. The AC installed are very loud. The rooms also are not representative of the photos they promote. Not one single room of the ones we looked at had a bathroom like the pictures describing it. They all instead had nets in the ceilings (it looked like they were renovating the ceilings in all bathrooms) so you could see pipes and cables in plain sight.

        So bad ...Wifi not even there after 3 hours. Filthy and pathetic dump. Stay away. Run ! Okay, I was cheap, I actually thought a 4 Star Hotel would have ,even in Brazil, like three stars,but no.... Good Joke. Not even one. The only good thing about this cave, ehm “hotel” is its distance to the nice ,but highly dangerous Copacabana Beach. Back to the hotel. Wifi was not working at all !!! on the higher floors, the A/C was really noisier than a jet plane engine and lots of water was dropping out of it. Well not my problem. The place looks like a time tunnel. Remember the Golden Girls ? Could be a Film Set for that show. The staff was nice but totally useless when they had to resolve any of the millions of problems in this place. The bathroom had a wirlpool that we never touched. Full of fungus,and brownish stains. What a disgusting experience. The breakfast was okay except for the regular tap water they “sold” you as drinking water from used 2 liter bottles in the breakfast room. What a new record of cheapness. Have your breakfast before 7 am, because later it gets crowded with real illustrous guests from neighboring banana republics which I don’t want to mention in detail. This hotel is a huge disappointment and would be closed in any country north of the equator but hey...this is Brazil . The mattress were the softest and cheapest I ever saw in any hotels. Your backs will hurt if you weigh more than a feather ,lol Don’t be cheap, this one will absolutely spoil anyone’s vacations, Stay clear of this one. Unless you give it to your worst enemy ....
