I live in Japan and often stay here when I come to Tokyo. ♡ It's a safe, relaxing place to come and chill to read manga... especially, English manga! (And great quality selections too!). I love reading the staff recommendations. Perfect for a place to crash for the night. Usually, everyone there loves books so its very quiet and the atmosphere is polite (maybe dont stay here if you want to chat). Its frequented by Japanese and foreign patrons and the showers/bathrooms are clean and the place is not too hard to find after a night out in Tokyo. Check in is easy and hassle free. However, it gets very hot without full-blasting the provided fan and you definitely can hear when others might snore, so if you're after a full night's sleep I'd suggest booking somewhere different (maybe look into their private big manga hotel even). However, for a safe (and usually very quiet, usually very clean) room to retire to for a nice reading night, I really recommend this place. They have a very interesting selection of English manga (in the female section, there're titles like Bananafish, Girl From the Other Side, My Brothers Husband, Ooku, Goodnight Punpun, etc) and I've stayed up late being introduced to some wonderful series I otherwise never would have tried. I look forward to staying each time in Tokyo because I can finish the next books in the series (ending my night to go to the capsule to read is almost one of the big draws I look forward to when I go Tokyo!). However, because I go so often, I'm worried I will run out of books eventually... (and you can't borrow from the 'other gender' floor). I would also love to see more shounen on the womens floor (though they do have a good mix) or a way you can request manga from other floors. If you like a good morning coffee I also recommend stopping by 'Social Good Roasters' on the 2nd floor in the same building, if they're open, once you check out.

Nice place! The manga is awesome, and the hotel is better suited for solo travelers. The hotel doesn't have a common room, so there isn't anywhere you can meet with friends and chill after a long day. You either need to find somewhere else to go, or just sit in your beds reading. I think this place would be perfect with a larger common area. No laundry on site or fridge. The beds are large enough to fit someone up to 6'4" though. Check in is fast and easy, and done via a quick Skype call.

It's okay, decent for a night or two of stay but there are better places you can book with more amenities, and cleaner rooms for the same price. Rooms (2/5) - The worst part about this place. Although it looks great in pictures with manga as the decor it's not actually as well kept as it should be. Paint is peeling off in some places and there's quite a build up of dirt and dust. Not unbearable but it shows they are more focused on advertising the place than the maintenance. And air quality tends to be the hardest thing to maintain about capsule hotels and they heavily cheap out on this, only giving your capsule a small fan with a few ventilation holes for air. It's not enough and will get stuffy especially in warmer weather. Price (3/5) - It's okay, you are paying a little bit more than you should based on other capsule hotels I've stayed at probably because of it's "manga" feature. But trust me, every other capsule hotel has an equal or even larger manga selection and it isn't locked to your gender. Male guests aren't allowed to go into the Female floor and pick up their manga and vice versa. This place is the only one that has a decent selection of English manga however with Google translated reviews of them. Location (4/5) - Not the worst but also not without it's flaws. Not much immediately around the place but if you can walk for 10-15 minutes you have easy access to Akihabara, Imperial Palace, and the Train. Service and Amenities (2/5) - Expect little to no service. There's typically only 1 to 2 staff on site mostly for cleanup. For amenities you at least get good wifi, clean showers, washrooms, sinks, and a towel. Just the bare basics but again at this price point other capsule hotels offer more amenities. No common area, hot water, or microwaves so you're not expected to be able to eat here.
