I was very comfortable at Mango Tree! The staff worked 24 hours a day so I felt very safe. I used the kitchen to cook and there was a tap for filtered water. I had 24 hour access to a microwave oven. They had a cash bar open every evening. My room was clean and the A/C worked great. I will definitely stay at Mango Tree again!

My overall experience being at this property wasn't the best in terms of receiving a rate online, only to come to the location in-person and discover it was an entirely different price. However, I am happy about this as it seemed like my card was charged, but once I got to the hostel it seems it wasn't, which I was happy about, as the rate at the actual location was way too much to pay for one night, almost $300 for one night. Albeit, I was able to store my belongings at the property for under $10 for 12 hours, which I was happy about. But I did not like that this happened to me based on misleading information online from the property itself. Thank you.

A particular receptionist, the girl with curly hair who worked afternoons, was extremely rude to us on several occasions, and made the environment hostile and very unwelcoming. When we first arrived, I was assigned a bed that had sheets on it, and when I asked her if the sheets were used and she said, “A little bit, you can change them if you want”, and then went back to her computer, completely ignoring me. So, I stripped someone else’s dirty sheets off my bed and took them downstairs to her. She also was completely unhelpful when I told her my assigned locker in the dorm was full with someone else’s belongings, telling me I could keep all of my belongings in a locker downstairs in the common area. My travel partner later found someone else’s dirty sheets balled up and thrown on top of her bed, and old dirty sheets and trash stuffed into the cracks of both of our beds. When we told this same receptionist about this, she told us we could just find another hostel if we weren’t happy. Never once did she attempt to help, apologize, or even get up from her computer. During our time there, whenever she was on shift she would refuse to make eye contact with us, even getting a coworker to help us buy a bottle of water so she didn’t have to speak to us. The day before I was set to check out, I walked into my room to find someone else’s name on my bed, with my name and checkout date removed. When I brought this to her attention, she, again, was completely unhelpful. She told us it was probably the guest who had done it, when she is the one who assigns beds and writes names on them. Refusing to offer any solution, I had to ask her to give me another name tag so I could go and claim back my own bed. Later she attempted to move that same guest to another bed that was still occupied. It was incredibly unprofessional and unpleasant. Whenever we asked for information about events around town it seemed to annoy her and she was unhelpful yet again. The hostel itself is great, with an amazing location, but she managed to make it a thoroughly disappointing experience for us.

Had a great time here, great location in Ipanema close to shops, bars, botecas and the beach. Great staff, has its own lively bar with various events daily. Shared bathrooms were constantly cleaned.

Booking Policy

It is mandatory for all guests to present valid government photo ID’s at the time of check-in.

The primary guests check-in into the hotel must meet the age requirements set by either the local government or the hotel’s policies.

Extra guests are subject to availability. And it might incur additional charges.

If guests are traveling with a child or children, it is necessary to specify the number of children accompanying them during the hotel booking process to avoid any last-minute complications.

Underage guests are only allowed to check-in with at least one parent or official guardian who fulfils the age requirements set by either the local government or the hotel’s policies.

Early check-in or late check-out request is subject to availability and the hotel may charge an additional fee for providing such services.

The price paid to Adani One includes room charges, taxes, the specified inclusions mentioned during the booking and convenience fee, if appliable. It does not cover additional services and expenses at the hotel.

Taxes, levies, charges, and any similar government fees, if applicable, will be imposed by the relevant authorities in the jurisdiction where the hotel is located. The guest is responsible for paying all such charges, as applicable.

Guests are required to adhere to any special instructions provided by the hotel. Failure to comply may result in the hotel's right to deny the booking or terminate the stay immediately.

Hotel Cancellation Policy

User can cancel their booking through the Adani One website or app until the check-in date and time. The refund for such cancellations will be subject to the hotel's cancellation policy. Adani One has no say over the refund amount.

Users can only cancel the entire booking. Partial cancellations, such as canceling specific room(s), a portion of the total nights, or specific guests out of the entire group, are not permitted.

User should not cancel the booking directly with the hotel. If a user cancels the booking directly with the hotel, Adani One will not be responsible for any refund.

Cancellation requests made through the online platform or via phone calls are the only valid and accepted methods.

Any cancellation requests made directly to the hotel will not be the responsibility of Adani One.

If you fail to cancel your reservation within the designated cancellation period, as specified by the hotel you booked, you will be responsible for paying the applicable nightly rates, tax recovery charges, and service fees imposed by the hotel. If you do not show up for the first night of your reservation but still plan to check in for the remaining nights, you must inform Adani One of any changes to your reservation no later than the scheduled arrival date for the first night. This is necessary to prevent the cancellation of your entire reservation.

Modification and Reschedule Policy

Once the booking is initiated, the user can’t change the name of primary guest, number of guests, age of child/children, number of rooms, and check-in/check-out date and time.

After the booking is confirmed, user will need to cancel their existing booking to create a new one to make any changes such as updating the primary guest, modifying the number of guests, specifying the age of child/children, adjusting the number of rooms, or changing the check-in/check-out date and time etc.
