        I had ocean view room, overlooking esplanade and bay - great for watching the cruise ships come and go. Great location, with so many eateries around. If sitting out on balcony the smells will make you hungry! One very minor thing - king bed made it a little tight to access fridge but big comfy bed was more important at the end of activity filled days😀 Overall the hotel is well maintained, with friendly helpful staff if anything is needed.👍

        This is incredibly well located, on the edge of the centre of Cairns but close to supermarkets, bottle shops, and cafes. Not to mention the many food options catering for any budget. There were a few problems, the main one being the limited guest parking so it's a first come first served basis. We often had to park on the street and dodge the parking rangers. But back to the positives, great service from friendly staff, a terrific pool, and a small but well equipped gym.

        Tiny room, no laundry facilities on site. Parking about 20 spots for whole 3 buildings. Shower door doesn't close properly so water all over floor. Asked for extra shower mats 5 hours ago and reception don't care. Live centipede found in room. Staff don't care.

        Put the words “mould” or “smell” into the “search reviews” bar and see what comes up… I have stayed here twice in the last year (booked here by accident the second time because I couldn’t remember the name of the place, only the smell). The whole place STINKS. Mould, mildew, wet carpet completes the bouquet- all part of an unsolicited free gift from Mantra straight to your nostrils. Both stays- STINK. After the first stay (which was only one night, so most of my clothes stayed in my suitcase) my clothes that never left the suitcase stank like the room once I opened it to unpack back at home. No wonder there are dehumidifiers in the room. Tend to think that this may be the only way they’re legally still allowed to operate the hotel. There’s even sign on the “dehumidifiers” threatening fines/charges if tampered with! PUTRID. Maybe they need air purifiers?Check the reviews that mention it- they date back YEARS!! Do yourself a favour and book somewhere else where you won’t feel like you’re breathing in spores. They need to sort this out, it’s gross and unhealthy. The rooms are snug and some don’t even come with a single chair as there’s no room for one. There barely a walkway between the end of the bed and the fridge. The carpark you have to walk through if staying in certain towers also stink like a dump, as it is the back end of several restaurants and other businesses that share the block with Mantra. Also, if you want to park there there’s only a handful of parks available, so you may end up having to pay for parking out n the street if you’re not in quick enough. On a good note, the staff are lovely and the location is amazing, though I will never again stay here unless someone can assure me that the smell is gone for good, which it seems they haven’t been able to achieve for some years now, so it’s very unlikely.

        We had a nice stay here for four nights, requested single beds which were organised perfectly prior to our arrival. The reception staff were very helpful although a few times it felt quite slow with quite a few people queuing. The room was fine although not large. The bathroom was a bit basic. Overall it was a good stay and I’d recommend this hotel, in particular because the location is perfect.
