Margaritaville Resort Times Square

We enjoyed our stay at this Margaritaville location. The location is hard to beat, you are in Times Square and steps away from the New Year’s ball (you can see it from the rooftop). The vibes and service in the hotel were great, but some things could improve. Waiting on the elevator proved to be a dreadful experience for us every time we had to go in or out of our hotel. With so many floors and with this location servicing people who weren’t staying there but just using the rooftop bar, there should be more elevators. There is simply too much traffic in them and too long of a wait. Laundry seems to be a nonexistent thing in some of the hotels I’ve stayed in in New York. No washer and dryer but you can send your laundry off and pay per article of clothing. This service is not cheap, laundering 1 bra would cost $3 and 1 shirt another $5. God forbid you have a full load of laundry. The lack of a microwave in the room proved to be an issue. This forces you to throw away perfectly good food and force you to spend more money on food elsewhere. But, this should be expected in hotels around Times Square I have learned. Aside from the above mentioned items, our stay was great and our view of Times Square was unmatched. Would recommend.

I never expected a trip to New York to be considered “relaxing” but somehow, here I am - relaxed. I’ll admit I booked here initially because it was relatively cheap & because I found it more than a little amusing that there was a Margaritaville here - to which I’m sure many can relate. I’d stayed at other Margaritaville properties, usually also slightly tounge in check. But I have to say, this stay may have converted me to Margaritaville vacations moving forward. A trip for business that was supposed to be 3 nights turned into 7, and I couldn’t help but be thrilled because it meant a few more nights at this hotel. I booked via a third party and was given what I’m sure was the worst room in the house (lowest floor, very small, etc) and still it was a great room for the area that felt cozy & well kept. Perhaps it would feel too small with another person, though. The staff was very helpful every time I needed to extend my stay (which was 3 separate times!) and I was particularly impressed that no matter when I left for the first time, 9 AM or 3 PM - when I returned my room was cleaned, the bed was made, and fresh water was delivered. The bars were great (the lobby bar has to be the chillest in Times Square) and no surprise - the margaritas were excellent everywhere. Every day when I walked back through the doors I felt refreshed & relaxed. That’s not easy to do just steps away from one of the most chaos inducing blocks in the world! Know what you’re in for - it’s definitely silly, it’s not the Ritz (not that it’s trying to be) and I mean - it is Margaritaville. But what that brand means has elevated itself to me after this stay - it’s I can’t believe I’m saying this - but I truly loved my week here.
