        My husband and I went to Barcelona for our honeymoon during the last two weeks of December and this is the hotel we picked to stay at. Our overall experience with the hotel was great and we personally liked the location. We felt safe at this spot, but overall, we felt safe at the spots we went to in Spain. There were 2 issues that came up during our stay, but nothing crazy, and the front desk was able to get it resolved very quickly. We used the spa for one day, which was relaxing, and you need to book a time slot to use the spa which includes the sauna, steam room, pool, and gym. They offer towels and free flip flops. We didn’t eat breakfast once at the hotel since we were close to many restaurants, walking distance (10-15 minutes), that we could to go too. Cabs are available just outside of the hotel that you can wait for, but if you’re okay to walk then we’d recommend walking My to the subway which is about a 15-minute walk from the hotel and is quite accessible to many of the main tourist spots in Barcelona. We would definitely recommend this hotel to our friends and family. But keep in mind we went during low peak season, so it didn’t feel crowded, and we were able to receive amazing service. Also, the weather in Barcelona during December is beautiful weather if you’re coming from Canada. It ranges from 10-15 degrees, so light jacket is needed, but more layers are needed if you go up to the mountains in Spain. Thank you to all Meliá staff for the exceptional service you provided us during our stay. We hope to see you again in the future.

        I was in this wonderful hotel two days ago; I enjoyed my stay a lot. There is a team of professionals with great warmth, the location is good, it is central, and the rooms are cozy. The breakfast with the receptionist or hostess from latin origin (I’m sorry I don’t remember her name) was amazing, she gave us a warm welcome, she was sweet, and she knew how to seat us at a table; she had a very nice vibe, the service was great. One day very early, we asked for an iron from reception, surprisingly a minute later a kind housekeeper brought it to us, she was polite, it was incredible, and the concierge was also very attentive. The only thing we didn’t like was the toilet in the lobby, it was dirty, but everything else and the team of the hotel was super professional, we had great moments in the hotel and restaurant. We recommend it!!!

        This hotel was an older one. I would say maybe a three star. It wasn't really close to any of the popular attractions. We had to taxi all the time. If you don't mind that, then the neighborhood is ok. The staff was really nice and accommodating. Our room was clean but you can tell it was old. Street noise was noticeable at night. The aircon was not really cooling, and we had maintenance try to fix it, which helped a bit.

        Maybe we were unlucky and got the worst room in the hotel. The room faced the main road and was incredibly noisy throughout the night and morning - didn't seem like there was any soundproofing for the windows. The hairdryer was dirty and sticky. You can skip the breakfast, very small selection and coffee cups were not clean! They also don't clear the breakfast tables in good time or prepare the tables well. There were missing cultery and table mats! I asked someone for a knife and fork. They acknowledged this request and never gave me them! Poor service, not 5 stars for me.

        We have just spent 10 great days in this hotel. The staff were really friendly specially the receptionist (Marta) whom we met on our arrival. She managed to find another room for us as I explained that I didn’t like height. The only downside is housekeepers. Some did their job very well but some were not at all. But when we informed them the room wasn’t cleaned at it standard, they immediately sent someone to clean. Juliana impressed us with her professionalism and kindness. She went beyond to make sure everything was clean and were happy.
