        All in all a disappointing stay. I was in room 501 (a room design for someone with mobility issues) which was the root-cause of both issues I experienced. There was a connecting door that had so little sound proofing the family on the other side on each night may as well have been in the room with me! There has to be a better solution than that. I heard every wail and every scream. The other main challenge was the absence of any shampoo or shower gel until I asked for it. Even then it was just sachets because the hotel hadn't got around to fitting the dispensers in every room yet (according to reception). On the plus side the bed was very comfortable, the shower warm and I liked the decor which was fresh and modern. However the room was an awkward shape and smaller than I'd expect - I guess that's due to it being an office conversion. Reception is also tiny which I imagine is for the same reason. I had one other frustration - reception was left unmanned several times during my stay. I had to ask to check out by peering round the door into the office behind reception. So in summary it felt like a very compromised experience. I wouldn't go back.

        Location is very nice, staff is very friendly and breakfast was amazing. However, the room was stuffy and very badly soundproofed, so you could hear your neighbours' (above and next to you) every move which makes it hard to sleep well. Beds comfy though.

        I appreciate the staff's effort, but during my three-night stay, I noticed breakfast items running out frequently and coffee machine broken twice. In addition to the breakfast concerns, it would be beneficial to consider incorporating a more consistent room cleaning service to enhance the overall comfort and satisfaction of guests during their stay.

        Great location in the city, very near Newmarket, rooms are average, service is quite good, and the people at the mercure are generally lovely. Housekeeping was a mixed bag, with certain housekeepers meticulously sprucing up the room and others not bothering to change the sheets despite obvious stains. It is a cheap and cheerful place to stay and really good for families on a budget. Rooms are decently sized and the hot water pressure and temperature are absolutely perfect (adding this for those who really prioritise strong hot showers).

        Absolutely rediculous. Was charged for the room as well as an extra $50 for absolutely no reason. Room had no shampoo or amenities as their staff where given christmas period off. Have been trying to email to ask for my money back they don't even bother responding. I will certainly be disputing this.
