        1. Overall, staff was friendly and polite. The staff that smiled made me feel much more welcome. 2. Mercure Kyoto Station Hotel is one of the best interior designed hotels I have ever stayed. 3. I appreciate the cleanliness of the hotel. From bathroom, room, elevator, hallways, to lobby - everything appeared clean and nothing out of place. 4. Good location and neighborhood. Relatively close to train station. Neighborhood was clean. 5. I know all of the luggage in the lobby was unavoidable.

        Spotlessly clean and in a great spot for Kyoto Station once you know your way. The hotel main entrance is not on the main road, it runs parallel down the back lane. Their restaurant is on the main road. It is an easy 5 minute walk to the station. The room was big for Japan and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast could have done with a little more variety and include more fresh fruit but overall the experience was excellent. My husband recommends the barber a few doors down from the main entrance in the back lane. He would fly back from Australia for the experience!

        I think this was our best Mercure hotel in the world so far. Great style, good service, good room size by Japanese standards and a great shower. The location is also very good with its proximity to the train station. We really enjoyed staying here and can recommend the hotel without hesitation. We would also come here again ourselves.

        I think this was our best Mercure hotel in the world so far. Great style, good service, good room size by Japanese standards and a great shower.         Nice hotel at a walk-able distance from the railway station. Rooms are nicely decorated although a little small. The staff is very friendly and polite. The breakfast area is very spacious, there is always a free table available. The food offer is very wide and can satisfy every taste, from typical Japanese to typical French.

        Stylish and pleasant hotel- thought from the name it was closer to the train station - not far but down an obscure side street. For foreigners it would be lovely to have more than just the English BBC as tv. in this day of internet tv, it should be possible. While the Italian themed may be attractive or exotic to Japanese, foreigners would be hoping for more Japanese content. We understand that Japanese tend to have short visits but for foreigners spending weeks in Japan, access to a laundry service would be great ( there are some nearby laundromats but they are inconvenient and only have Japanese instructions). Afternoon drinks as offered as part of our all membership were disappointing in range.
