        Central location, 10 minutes from the Metro but with buses and taxis outside. Well appointed interior with friendly reception staff. Nice bar. Lovely rooms, big and comfortable bed. Nice 6th floor terrace. ALL status recognised. However the heating was constantly on and the Aircon didn't work which meant the room was far too hot. Need to allow customers to make their own room temperature choice and not force central heating on to everyone. That makes me nervous to stay here again.

        One of the worst hotel experiences I've had. When we checked in our room had no towels at all and since it was the middle of the night we had to go and find them in the housekeepers closet ourselves. The bed was hard as a rock. The room was advertised as having air conditioning but this was false. The lighting fixtures in the bathroom were falling off with exposed wires. Avoid this hotel. There are much nicer ones right across the street.

        For the last days in Portugal, I picked this 4 star hotel in Porto. I like the size of the rooms even though hotel is located smack in the middle of the city. Very spacious. The rooms were also clean and well appointed. Got upgraded to Privileged Room which came with Nespresso machine and free drinks in the mini fridge, replenished every day. The breakfast spread was reasonable. Starts a bit later at 7am till 11am but this is more a tourist hotel. Location wise it is near several sightseeing spots but due to its elevation, you have to walk uphill or take public transport to reach hotel. One complaint about hotel is the sound proofing. I can heard the conversation in the next room faintly and sound of toilet flushes upstairs comes across clearly. Very polite service at check in and out and also in the restaurant. Staff speaks several languages beside Portuguese. Impressed.

        Monika welcomed us and went out of her way to help with our parking, room and fantastic restaurant suggestions. We had a wonderful and very comfortable stay. Would highly recommend this very friendly and cosy hotel.

        Very Friendly check in-Check out. Special Thanks for the Welcome Drink (Lemon Water) in the Lobby. Typical Mercure Economy Hotel, good for a city trip. We had a renovated comfortable room with Queen size beds, large bathroom with tube and Bidet; windows to be opened. Super Coffee Maschine! Only the walls are thin, therefore a bit noisy. Dinner not recommended and rather expensive. A kind of “ Cesar Salad” 16€
