My second time staying here, and since the first one few years ago the fountain in front of the hotel has been dead, and until last week its still dead, why? 🥲 Anyway location is nicely located near most typical shanghai tourist destination, and they got bidet in the room (big plus point for indonesian) plus free mineral water in the lobby

This Mercure is looking a bit down on its luck. The main entrance with the statues is closed, and the fountain empty and definitely looking the worse for wear. The room is kind of basic, but not bad value if you want to use it as a base, a walkable distance from the Bund and a quick trolleybus ride from the French concession. There's a mall over the road with good food and an enormous model railway, of all things.

**I FOUND HAIR IN MY BREAKFAST!!** unpolite staff, and only one or two can little bit speak english. The room was terible, even quote new, but there is no window, only fake/dummy window. this is the 1st time ever i have stayed in this kind of hotel. the breakfast time shall be open from 06.00-10.00 AM, in fact, they just open on 06.30/07.00. and the worst thing is, i havw found HAIR in my breakfast!! VERY DISGUSTING!!! they didnt even asking for apologize, but make many reasons. they said, our chef is MEN so the hair must be coming from hotel Guest!! There are many women staff in the kitchen WITHOUT Hair cover! how they vsn blamed the hotel quests?? without think twice, i have decided to checked out from the hotel, even actually i have booked for 10 days, and i havw checked out in days 6. still one more problem with this hotel. since the day i was checked in, i said to hotel staff, to open the bill with my credit card ans do not charge all in advanced. there always possibility that i would checked out anytime. but the insist to charge me in advanced and prommised that they will refund in tje same days if i checked out bwfore days 10. when at the end i would checked out in the days 6, in the beginning they refused to refund the money in the same days, but 2 Weeks. after make some debate, at end the they want to refund in cash. i think this hotel is really not suitable for foreigners.
