BOOKING: Original booked AirBnB host called the day before arrival to explain our room would not be available so the “book now” option for this listing on AirBnB came in handy! Solution secured very quickly and easily. Arrangements to be let into the flat were easily arranged. Thank you, Laura! VENUE/ROOM: Located in a quiet and secure residential building under 10 minutes walk from the Duomo. Looks just like the photos! Beautifully furnished studio type flat with lots of storage and a comfortable little kitchen with 2 hobs; would do really well for medium length stays. Very comfortable cushion top bed. Worth noting that the bathroom is laid out in a narrow hallway of a bathroom, causing the toilet to be right up against the opposite wall. If you’re 6 foot or taller, this is a real struggle to sit on. The shower is also very tiny and difficult to get into if you are over UK size 14 or a gent of broad shoulders; I would estimate it is about 80cm square. Hot water was not working on the evening of our arrival on Sat night but we did not mention it to the host as it was very late at night at that point; Sunday morning it was working great; unfortunately was not working again on Monday morning just before check out. HOSPITALITY: Flight was half an hour delayed at take off and additionally delays caused by fog - the captain had to pick up and circle back for a second attempt. These added up to a delay of just over an hour. Andrea was lovely, completely understanding and helpful in looking for transport from Centrale to the flat and checking us in. He took photos of our passports which I was a little concerned about but I can understand the security concern. It does not seem to say so on the listing (which it should according to AirBnB Help Centre) but he asked us to pay €2 per night, per person as “City Tax” which I assume is Occupancy Tax some EU cities do charge hosts - however, we received no receipt for this. I think this should be collected as part of the booking process as an additional fee, which would make the full cost more clear. But then he asked for €20 penalty for the late check in; I was very sure I had not seen this on the listing and tried to connect to the WiFi to check the listing but he instead waived the request. Otherwise easy experience and interaction and it was a lovely stay in a very clean and hi-spec room. Highly recommended if size limitations suit you.

It is mandatory for all guests to present valid government photo ID’s at the time of check-in.
