        Nice well fitted room. Comfy beds and pillows. Ask for higher than floor six if you want a view of the harbour. Bar upstairs is nice and breakfast was good. Give valet plenty of notice, >15mins otherwise you'll be waiting for your car.

        Location is very convenient with minutes walking to the harbour where you can catch all your boats & cruises. There are many eateries too & supermarket just beside.. Sky Tower is also walking distance & yr the luxurious brand shopping at Queen Street which is just across the road! More important is the helpfulness & friendliness of the staff! A great way to start my trip in New Zealand!!

        I was invited to stay with family as they came for the night, the rooms are fantastic! We had 2 corner rooms on the 11th floor and the views were great - you can see down to the street from one room, and out to the ocean from the other. Both rooms were clean and comfy and we had an ensemble of treats to devour upon arrival. We enjoyed dinner at the Korean fusion restaurant upstairs and the food was amazing! The staff are extremely welcoming and hospitable. The breakfast was the best part - buffet of tasty food, and the morning sun made it a fantastic combo. 5/5 would recommend.

        Spent the last few months traveling around the US, Europe, Australia and now NZ. This is a “5 star” hotel but clear it is not. First room was leaking room the ceiling and they didn’t move me. The room smelled and was hot. They moved me to a second room that had no working AC. They gave me and my roommate a free comped breakfast and it was by far one of the worst breakfasts I’ve had. Not sure why this place is rated how it is. I’m from the hood and don’t need much, but this ain’t it.

        Staying at the Movenpick now and felt the need to write an immediate review. Location is great, with good access to shops and restaurants. But that's all I can say about it. Service level is erratic depending on the individual. Checked in late and there was only 1 person in the WHOLE hotel. No bag service, no room food/sundae service as was proudly touted despite claims that it is 24/7 service. There was NO service. We went out at 2pm next day, returned at 6pm and no housekeeping was done. When we called to inquire, was told that they had left work already. Tried to order the choc fondue platter was told by 1 person no but was told by another yes. I have 2 more nights here, hopefully it will improve but will not have high hopes. This is not what I expect from a so called luxury hotel. Very disappointing.
