        The service was terrible. The concierge were foreigners who were not proficient in English Or Japanese. Offered no help with the luggage both during check in and out. Staff were not familiar with the surrounding district and could not offer any useful information besides an info sheet. They did not know the local festival despite the fact that the ryokan was advertising it! Asked us to book and pay for breakfast. Then called 10 minutes later saying we had missed the breakfast booking timing (it was 6pm the previous day). Very very disappointing. 100% not worth the price.

        We had an excellent stay here! The staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcome. Our room had a private onsen which was the perfect way unwind after a full day of exploring.

        Extremely romantic, peaceful and beautiful hotel. Rooms are clean, well-thought of amenities including bath soak for the soaking tub outside (if you book the downstairs room with soaking tub). Location isn’t central but that means you’re away from the city noise and can experience Kyoto.

        Had a great experience here. Beautiful and clean rooms. Fantastic service from the staff who were very friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Would highly recommend staying here. Located away from the main area, however still plenty of good food options. A nice change compared to the busy downtown Kyoto

        beautiful rooms we stayed in the bigger style suite and it was great! Small downsize on being far away from metros. You’re right in front of a bus stop that goes into the major Kyoto station area tho. If you have luggage I suggest taking a taxi there from Kyoto station it’s around $15-$20 and more convenient than lugging it on buses. Really love how quiet and spacious it is tho.
