OMO7 Osaka by Hoshino Resorts

We loved our stay at OMO7, I read some mixed reviews on this hotel but I really liked what I saw in the photos so thought we'd give it a go and we were not disappointed. Sure, it's a bit further out than the main hotel area but this was not an issue as it was so close to the train station, we also used their bus service to get to USJ. As an Aussie this seemed to be more of a modern take on Japanese living, Beds on the floor yet so comfy, no shoes allowed in the hotel rooms and lounge wear/robes provided at check in and encouraged to be worn around the hotel the clog/croc type shoes. Funky artwork and bold colour choices this was in no way boring. Recently built everything was new and clean. As a family of 4 we booked an Idobata Suite which had plenty of space for us. I wish we had more time to enjoy the grounds and the onsen. I would recommend staying here and would stay here again.

Our family just returned from a 7 night stay at the OMO7 and I want to share my thought as American tourist doing a long stay in Osaka at OMO7. The Hotel is in mint condition, it was opened in 2022 so everything at this hotel is brand new and flawless. The Hotel utilized self-check in/out with language selection in japanese/english/chinese. There is a front desk staff at all time to assist your needs. Just make sure you have the QR code or the ID/PW they email you. OMO7 has a large lobby area so it never feel crowded. The front desk is located on 2F and connects to a outdoor deck that offers unlimited free beer and takoyaki every night to its guest from 7-9. There is also a public bath (not onsen) next to the 2F common area. 2F also features a cafe/bar and onsite restaurant as your breakfast/lunch/dinner option. The dinning is a all you can eat buffet so I definitely recommending trying at least once for dinner. Our family of 4 stay in the idobata suite that comfortably house 6 and ample room for 4 people and luggages. the idobata suite has 2 sinks and separated toilet and shower area so very convenient for the family. And the hotel offer self-service laundry on site so if your staying a bit longer this is a good choice. Here is some of the pro for staying at this hotel. 1. Free shuttle daily to/from USJ. 2 shuttle in the morning and 2 shuttl at night. 2. walking distance to Mega Don Quijotes. If you never been to a Don Quijotes, you must check it out. it's Walmart on steroid. you will find just about anything at Don Quijotes, such as LV/DIOR/ROLEX at Don Quijotes. But these luxury band are all 2nd hand goods and they have rating of A/B grade. You can pick up a good condition 2nd hand Prada or Dior bag here. And among other things. you can spend hours in this store. 3. short walk to Shinsekai a lot of food choices. Now for the con. 1. It is near Tennoji zoo so I was glad we visit in winter. you can smell the zoo near the hotel. 2. Even thought the metro/JR station is near by, it is very confusing for the tourist to navigate. so do study the station layout before you go. 3. limited restaurant selection near by. But Uber Eats works well so you can order just about anything and have it delivery to the hotel. I would give this hotel a high rating if the surrounding is a bit more updated. Hopefully in the near future there would be redevelopment started for this area. if you are traveling as a family and need 4~5 star hotel quality with self-laundry this would a great choice as most japanese hotel room are very very small compare to US standard.
