        i want to preface this by saying i do not go to a lot of 5 star hotels but my partner and i wanted to go to a nice hotel while traveling abroad to celebrate our anniversary. from our minimal experience and reviews we’ve read, we have some expectations of a hotel that is 5 stars around service quality, food and drink, and overall experience. first experience, the concierge was wonderful and offered many ideas. when i spoke about being gluten free, she gave me recommendations for restaurants and filled the mini bar with gluten free beer which was a super pleasant surprise. generally; the bathroom and room was what we expected and it was nice (although the room temp was not chilly enough and ac controls didn’t work) and the bed was very comfy. now a few things we didn’t enjoy about the experience: one of the first things we did was go to sit out by the pool (which for some reason has very limited seating) and we realized that the building right next door is fully under construction and hovers over the pool space, so we were surrounded by the sounds of construction anytime we went outside to the pool or the pool bar. construction is obviously out of our control, but we are surprised there was no prior warning at booking that their main amenity had heavy construction (not sure we would have booked). next, there were waiters all around the bar by the pool, but they never walked around to see if we wanted anything, so anytime we ordered drinks we had to walk to the bar and then point out to where we were sitting (didn’t feel very 5-star service). when it was time to pay for the drink, my partner was on a work call and the waiter came over at that moment to interrupt the call (twice) to ask him to pay for the bill. it was shocking and i can’t imagine why he couldn’t wait the extra few minutes or just come to me at our seats, when he was clearly on the phone. lastly, we went to sit at the indoor bar before going to dinner, but they told us we couldn’t and directed us to sit outside, which was a little bizarre, seeing as it was 90 degrees and super humid outside. when we checked out, no one offered to help us with our bags, the door, or helping us get a cab to the airport which i found a little strange as well. overall, it was a fine experience but definitely not near five star standards that i would expect.

        The staff was incredible and we already miss Alexander and Daniella who work in the dining area at breakfast. We had a junior suite, overlooking the pool area. The view was nice but they play music out there every night until midnight. If you don't care about the noise, this is the room for you. If you want to get some rest, especially after a long journey, bring ear plugs.

        Beautiful hotel. Impeccably designed. The rooms are well appointed and the beds are comfortable. They loose points on noise in the rooms, especially backed onto the pool. The service is also a bit spotty at point. Overall good!

        We stayed at the lovely Dama suite that was exceptional!! We had a very specious double room with a lovely marble bathroom! The beds were excellent and lovely decorated.. Also the hotel is in the perfect area close to all attractions by foot!’ All the staff was extremely helpful for really everything we asked for!! We would like to thank very much Andrea- Mateo and super Zenia!! Thank you all so much! I highly recommend this hotel for an incredible stay in lovely Rome!!

        Love this hotel. It’s a small boutique hotel with gorgeous interiors, really friendly staff and nice rooms. We arrived from a 22hr flight at a hotel across the other side of town which was infested with bugs. After a few calls to other local hotels we discovered a Conde Nast article about Palazzo Dama so we decided to give it a shot. We called them at 10pm at night and got through to the lovely Matteo who was just so helpful, welcoming and warm. He encouraged us to hop in a taxi and he would look after us and ensure the kitchen stayed open so we could order dinner. The moment we turned up we new we made the right choice. Our bags were immediately collected from our arriving taxi, the location was fabulous and Matteo made our check-in very smooth. We booked the larger suite and it was stunning, beautiful bathroom/shower, extremely comfortable bed,espresso machine, huge terrace and another living area. We had the breakfast everyday which was good and the entire time the staff were so attentive and friendly. We got great recommendations for our next destination from a lovely lady on front desk (don’t know her name) and the bell porters we great too. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone considering it.

          Booking Policy
          It is mandatory for all guests to present valid government photo ID’s at the time of check-in.
