My now Fiance’ had proposed to me on Saturday the 23rd of December 2023, At the Knysna heads. He had booked a dinner at Pezula hotel after the proposal to celebrate this special occasion. He had made sure that it was a private celebration for just the 2 of us, in which Pezula said they would put us in the wine cellar. When we got to the hotel, and asked for our reservation the staff called the manager and said unfortunately the wine cellar was full of boxes and instead of assisting us with another table he said sorry he couldn’t help us that evening (despite the many open tables available). My Fiancé and I had to leave Pezula to go and find a restaurant that would take us in last minute with no reservation. Not the way in which we wanted to celebrate our engagement!

I think this hotel was pretty good 5 or 10 years ago, because I can confirm you that it's not a 5-star hotel at all! This hotel is falling apart. A lot of renovation should be done and quickly. The fabrics on the restaurant armchairs are torn. Room carpets are stained, door handles stick in your hands, pool tiles are peeling. Room shutters are falling down. It's a disaster! The service is slow and the staff unsmiling. And to top it all off, whenever there's a power cut, it's impossible to keep warm. Cold top, no hairdryer and very little light in the resort, even though we're told to watch out for the baboons. I wouldn't recommend this place.

It is a wonderful place for a holiday and to relax .But it needs an urgent attention to both its services and the poor quality of food.It is very concerning that Management does not seem to review guest complaints seriously nor does it show any interest to improve their standards. I did speak to the F&B Manager about the poor quality of both food and services from the Restaurants and suggested that he should introduce mystery guests to assist with improving the standards. For the price that one pay for the menu at the main restaurant it is a rip off.I ask to speak to the chef but he chose to ignore my call and never came.I personally do not believe that he is a qualified chef nor any of his staff are trained. Management should spend time on the floor interacting with their guests to know how badly the food department is being run.

We had a great stay in Pezula nature retreat. We benefitted from an upgraded room which was cosy and very well laid out. The staff were friendly and the amenities were wonderful for our trip - we had massages in the spa and used the swimming pool area. Only feedback is the food could be better for a 5 star - we did one dinner here and given the high standards of cuisine in Cape Town, this fell short of the mark and we resorted to dining in Knysna for the other days. Overall, I would come back again as the facilities and vibe are great and v.relaxing!

Well Pezula what can we say.. you just blew us out the park. I had a client cancel a booking and we decided to give the booking credit to families who haven’t had a luxury holiday ever and wow you treated them like absolute gold.You went above and beyond and created everlasting memories for those few special people, your big heart will always be remembered. We look forward to seeing you again. Special mention to Taylor you’re a gem. Pezula you’re something special.
