        Honestly I don’t know what everyone is complaining about. Sounds like they fixed a lot of the issues. Water pressure was strong, toilets flushed well, no bugs at all, rooms just smelled sanitized, beds were clean, front desk gal was so sweet. Would definitely come again. Great price.

        I sincerely would like to give it more than one star but due to its lack of professional ethics I cannot. Two months ago I was there for my anniversary, my husband had given me a vase with some very beautiful flowers and unfortunately when it was time to check out I forgot it at the front desk, that same day at night I went back to look for it and they told me It wasn't there so I returned the next day in the morning and the girl who helped me when I left recognized me and already knew why I came back so she went ahead and told me that she had taken it to her house and the manager told me to I would send it, I left all my information and I'm still waiting. I would like this comment to be returned to me one day.

        Stayed here two days in January. Starting off with the good: 1. LOCATION LOCATION, beautiful location! In the heart of Little Italy, walking distance from many shops/restaurants to explore. Close to the airport. Great on that front! 2. Most of the front desk staff we encountered during our stay was helpful. Okay, let’s talk about the issues 🙂 Our flight arrived in San Diego at about 9am. Prior to boarding our flight, at like 5am, I called the hotel to see about early check-in. Front desk agent looked up my reservation and told me that they’re able to do early check-in, at half the price of one night’s rate (calculated- that’s about $40 pre-tax). Agent also told me on the phone that, nothing needs to be done at this time. Once we arrive at the hotel, they’ll process an early check-in. Okay great. Upon arrival and attempt to check-in, another front desk agent told us she has no record/notes of us inquiring about early check-in. She states, the rooms weren’t ready yet, the housekeeping staff had JUST arrived (literally, I did watch them coming in). On top of that, the agent I was working with in person was saying early check-in is a full $80+, basically the price of one night at this hotel! I refused to pay that price with the agent when we originally were told half of that, we met about halfway in the middle at $50 something. Us being so exhausted from traveling, we wanted them to keep the last agent’s word and accommodate us. Which, after about a 45-minute wait for a clean room, they were able to. Thankful for that. This brings me to the next part… We walk to our room. I know this is a 3-star hotel in the middle of Downtown San Diego, my expectations were in line. However… the room the agent got for us, was near some sort of garage/storage. And in that courtyard garage type thing, there was a bunch of remodeling materials, tools, furniture, etc. I believe we may have been near laundry rooms too. I’m pointing this out to say… IT WAS SO LOUD. We laid down for naps before an important event, and we could hear water running from another room… it wasn’t just running, but constantly turning on for about 60 seconds, turning off, and then 2 minutes later, repeat. We made jokes about it to keep from getting too frustrated. My mom was even half-way joking that the agent placed us in this room on purpose, since we had her and housekeeping staff keep word and accommodate. (well, we did pay for early check-in! It’s not like they gave it to us for free)! At this point, we should’ve asked to switch rooms. Unfortunately, we were both just tired, and didn’t want to deal with any push back, and did not make an effort to ask. HUGE mistake. Because the next morning, trying to get some rest, the noise was even worse! Every 2 minutes it was either the water running on/off, the laundry - we could hear some sort of machines going!, or the housekeepers were walking by with carts, super super loud right outside of our door. We’ve stayed in plenty of hotels, I don’t really understand why we could hear everything so well from outdoors. The rooms are what you’d expect at this level, not terribly bad not terribly good. Just kind of has that dark, and old motel vibe. I stripped the bed and checked for critters and bed bugs after seeing another review complaining of them. THANKFULLY, I didn’t see any. Updated furniture. Like I said, at least the staff is nice, and they’ll do what they can to help. 2 men at the front that checked us out, so sweet and friendly!! We left our bags with them while we went out and walked to breakfast after checking out. Kudos to them! Other than that, thankful it was a quick stay.

        Stayed at this hotel 2 years ago and it was very nice, had a room with a balcony that was nice. Now 2 years later, this place has gone downhill. Tiny rooms that smell like clorine. The woman that checked us in was very unfriendly, did not give us directions to our room, but just handed us a key, and unfortunately she checked us out as well and when we made a complaint she really did nothing about it and did not seem to care. Other staff members at least greeted us. During the nigh at 2am, we started hearing doors being slammed, over and over. It came from the level below us..as time when on the banging got louder and louder. I thought someone was kicking in all the hotel doors. The noise got to our floor and I looked out the window to see a guy with a headlamp and clipboard so I knew he worked in the hotel. We called the front desk about the noise and they put us on hold and never came back. The slamming doors went on until 4am. When we complained on check out the lady at the desk said it was their security checking rooms. WHY on earth they slam every single door while they KNOW people are sleeping is beyond me. The lady was just like "sorry about that' and that was it. She did not seem to care that we were up half the night due to imcompetent staff. I'm sure they did NOT talk to security about it. Also walls are paper thin..could hear people in the next room screaming and talking. And the bed was hard as a rock!! The only thing this hotel has going for it is location which is close to tons of restaurants, shops, bars, etc. Two years ago I would have suggest this hotel to friends, but no anymore.

        If I could give zero stars I would. The hallways are dark and poorly lit. The rooms open to the outside and there is ZERO security to get up to the rooms. You are not requires to scan a keycard to get into the hotel or up to the rooms. As a solo female traveller, I felt very unsafe. The rooms are poorly lit, beds are extremely uncomfortable, and the shower had no water pressure. I was supposed to stay there 3 nights and ended up checking out a day early because I woke up the second morning and there were three cockroaches crawling on the floor. I would advise you not to stay there!
