        The best thing going for this hotel is undoubtedly its location -- smack on the Nanjing Pedestrian Street and within walking distance to the Bund. If you're lucky, you'll get a decent view from the room too. However, can't say much else about it. In particular, they have a weird and absolutely ridiculous policy of turning the air conditioning off once or twice a week. When I asked about this, I was simply told that this is policy and it's a way of "resting" or maintaining the system, having had the A/C on the entire summer (I stayed in the second week of October). There's no logic to this and it results in a stuffy and warm room the whole night and makes it hard to get a good night's sleep. They have no remedy, other than to say this is policy. The entire building's A/C is turned off! No service recovery either. Can't understand it. There are plenty of other hotels in the area so I would no stay here again if given a choice.

        Best hotel and best location if you want to spend time in Shanghai. It's in the heart of Nanjing Road, it's near The Bund, so many food stall, plazas, parks, pharmacy, convenience stores you name it. It's very lively even it's winter. Plus they had bus stop just in the corner if you want to the Double Decker Sightseeing Bus Tour. The room is quite spacious, we had one with The Bund View, they provide amenities, safes, free mineral water everyday. The breakfast is so so, ranging from international breakfast to asian and for few days i think the restaurant's heater broke down so we had to eat with our jacket on. Lol. Even though we had problems with their language but we had a nice experience while staying here.

        This is an odd place to review. Location is a solid 5 with literally a step into the pedestrian area which is so central for visitors. The building is fantastic and I had a room at the 29th floor including e.g. happy hour in the lounge. Room was very good but in the league with the other high standard chimes hotels. Personnel was ok. What I did not like was the breakfast.. the choice was covering all conceivable styles for on European to Chinese to Indian but the choice was not that huge and it was simply cold. Even e.g. eggs or beans or tomatoes were stone cold to barely warm. Same for Asian dishes and this was a bit of a disappointment in the price class. I did not try the spa or gym. With a bit more effort this could be a 5 star place. Be aware of the location you will be constantly offered dubious massage services since this seems to be located between the various hotels. If this is not a problem for you this is a nice hotel to stay anyway despite my comment

        Good location, high quality services Hôtel very well located in the middle of the Main Street of Shanghai. Even if the rooms are not very modern, there is all the confort of a 4 stars hotel. For sure a good value to stay

        Nice and very well located hotel. Inexpensive in low season. Breakfast is generous. However the bar @ 30th floor closes early and the bar in the lobby seems closed.
