Royal Hills is one of the best hotels in Nuwara Eliya. It is located in a beautiful view of the city. It has a very kind and helpful staff. It has all the amenities including car park. Thank you so much for your kindly service.

This hotel & guest house is in front of the Gregory lake in Nuwara Eliya. Comparable rooms and very sweet location Gregory lake. Can enjoy every one.

Visited for second time.. The management has changed still on the developing stage but gave best service than the last year..

They say its a 3 star hotel. I booked a room there for 2nights BB basis. And below list is what I experienced. Its not a star class hotel. No proper parking. Elevator is too small. That is the smallest elevator i have ever seen my life. Rooms not cleaned well Closet is full of dust (Found old tshirt in it) Roof damaged, water marks on ceiling. Small rooms No proper heat insulation done in the rooms Curtains were thin silk materials which are not suits for very cold situations Heater is not working well (its capacity is not enough to heat the room) I had to get the breakfast from out side because their portions are not enough even for a child. After facing those difficulties i moved to another hotel for my 2nd night. That cost me a half of the day which i cannot get for money. I gave 2 starts because the one who answer the phone is talking friendly and the Staff is friendly.

Decent hotel, nice view but not the best of experiences We reached here late in the night , it was cold and raining and the reception we received was same as the weather. After initial discussions and confusion we were finally allotted rooms. To be fair we were also treated to some nice hot chocolate. The experience on the rooms front was not great as we were assigned attic rooms which were nice and unique in their own way but also low on the ceiling front. The view was the best since these were the top rooms but one had to bend as the windows were low. Also, rooms being on the top had blowers to keep warm. The bathrooms were small but functional and equipped to the extent required. We were there for 2 nights so we pushed them to shift into rooms a floor below and these were definitely much more spacious and nicer and to some extent ROYAL as the name of the property suggests. The view of the lake though would be only from the 3rd floor and above due to a property between this one and the road. The breakfast spread is decent and they also do some more things besides the spread on request but nothing to rave about. Overall it's a small property and the service is just about there. The side view from some of the rooms is of the hills and is quite beautiful. The location is quite a distance from the Town and one would need transportation or at least cycles to get there. While Nuwara Eliya is known as Little England for the cold and damp weather (probably coldest place in Sri Lanka) all year round, it's also quite beautiful around the Gregory Lake and the small houses on the hills almost give you the feel of a small beautiful European town/hill station.
