        I had never stayed at a ryokan before and am REALLY glad I choose this one! The couple who runs the place were SO accommodating and helpful throughout my stay. The room was pretty spacious for a Japanese hotel and I loved the minimal, traditional look of the room. I was surprised how well I slept in the traditional bed on the floor! The large breakfast was amazing as well and had so many components! Keep in mind that there is a 11PM curfew but I'm not a night owl so this wasn't an issue for me. My experience staying here was truly wonderful and I would recommend it if you are looking for a ryokan to stay at!

        We just loved it, the ryokan (rooms, onsen, private breakfast seats), the owners (superkind), the central position (right behind Nishiki market). Was a great choice and an unforgettable stay during our trip across Japan, just go there and you want regret it!

        My husband and I stayed here while visiting Kyoto for 3 days and 4 nights. The hosts are the sweetest people you'll ever meet. The ryokan was clean and tidy. The bath is spacious. They even have an onsen on the second floor. We opted to have a home cooked breakfast every morning and it was absolutely worth it. We almost wish we never left haha. The only caveat is that they have a curfew of 11pm-6:30am as the ryokan is also their home. They lock up so they can go to bed. This was never an issue for us as we don't typically stay out past 10, but for people who are keen on exploring the nightlife should keep that in mind. All in all, this is a wonderful ryokan to stay. We will be coming back whey we visit Kyoto again.

        **** It's amazing BUT, it might not be for everyone!!! This place is amazing, and it depends on what kind of person you are. I'll still give it 5 stars in terms of what it should be and it's market. The rooms were traditional, great to experience the Japanese culture. Had the best sleep of my life on the floor laid bed. No sarcasm, one of the best. It's that good. Bath house is clean and spacious, amazing. Service? Scarily wonderful. I'm scared of human interaction that's why, but of what they should be and I know that is what most people like. It's amazing. And not to mention it is near the tourist infested street market? It's a prime location. They are everything of what a Ryokan experience should have, and therefore the 5 stars. But the thing is, I came with family, as a 30 year old working in the bar scene. I live for nightlife. And the only (for me) MAJOR DOWNSIDE to this Ryokan, is it's curfew. Guess what time. 11pm. I mean I understand it's a generational hotel, and the hosts are happily older than I am, they told me that the curfew was early because they want guests to have quality sleep and they clearly want to sleep to and lock the doors. It's super cute and so respectful of them to tell me. I will follow. The price we paid sure, it's expensive, but to me, Kyoto's night scene is even more worth looking at. Trust me, go to the temples open 24 hours at night, enjoy the peace of the bamboo forests, NO TOURISTS! And the bar scene, omfg the bar scene is extraordinary and needs to be experienced. And don't forget the convenience stores, full of midnight goodies if you're bored at night. But again, please book this Ryokan experience with them, these guys know what they're doing. UNLESS, you are like me, 1. A night owl, who's biological clock strays away from normal humans. 2. Cocktail enthusiast. Want to enjoy nightlife, who enjoys world class cocktails from discreet esteemed bartenders 3. A late riser, Don't like waking up early for a breakfast. 4. An introvert. Hate crowded places. Again, they are great, location, service, room, cleanliness. My family loves the place. I like it for what it is but not what I want. And they made it clear before you book, so it's just not for me. Just to let y'all know.

        This is my second time in Japan, and Kagihei has to be my favorite accommodation so far. The location is perfect, the room was gorgeous with a real ryokan feeling but the best this was the owner and the staff. From the moment my wife and I got in they welcomed us, showed us around and throughout our stay helped us with everything we needed. I highly recommend Kagihei and if we will come back to Kyoto we will stay here again for sure.

          Booking Policy
          It is mandatory for all guests to present valid government photo ID’s at the time of check-in.
          The primary guests check-in into the hotel must meet the age requirements set by either the local government or the hotel’s policies.
          Extra guests are subject to availability. And it might incur additional charges.
          If guests are traveling with a child or children, it is necessary to specify the number of children accompanying them during the hotel booking process to avoid any last-minute complications.
          Underage guests are only allowed to check-in with at least one parent or official guardian who fulfils the age requirements set by either the local government or the hotel’s policies.
          Early check-in or late check-out request is subject to availability and the hotel may charge an additional fee for providing such services.
          The price paid to Adani One includes room charges, taxes, the specified inclusions mentioned during the booking and convenience fee, if appliable. It does not cover additional services and expenses at the hotel.
