The hotel room was big, the trade off is that I didn't have a private bathroom. Thats what I chose however. I went into this knowing that so please know before you book. It isn't a negative however as the shared bathrooms were clean and well maintained. The cleaning staff were friendly and the receptionists are all as helpful as possible. I needed to ship my suitcase to my next hotel and it was the first time I did this. The receptionist helped me with each step and provided the forms. All super helpful and welcoming. Its not far from Kyoto Station literally about 5 - 10 minutes walk or a nearby subway or bus stops 2 minutes away. Overall, if you are okay with using a shared bathroom then this is a very nice place to stay.

The shower room is on the first floor (6 showers available for the whole building). The concept is like a public bath, so even the shower door is a bit see-through (but at least they split the area by gender). 1 day, I had to queue as many people took a shower at the same time. The room is small, and the toilet is shared outside the room (but still on the same floor) The common area is pretty nice with many tables. They have this regulation to not allow more than 4 people to sit together. Maybe to keep the voice low and to not disturb other people. There are laundry machines that you can use for free.

Clean, comfortable and modern hotel with great amenities. Fresh coffee to grind yourself, herbal teas, water refills with ice and microwave / kitchen utensils to use. Free laundry (self-service) washer and dryer with a maiden in your room. Rooms are small but beds are comfortable and rooms are cleaned every couple of days. Onsen hot bath (gender separate) for free use, slippers and hotel attire provided for use in the hotel. Overall a great experience, walking distance to inner city subway lines, Kyoto main station and sub station. Absolute value for money cannot recommend enough.

This is my favorite hotel during my trip to Japan (osaka, kyoto, nagoya). They have checkin checkout machine, free nature tea and roaster coffee, free laundry with dry. They clean the room every 3 days even if you don't ask. The share bathroom have private room and public room, you can try traditional Japanese bathing method if you want. The room is a little small for 2 people with big luggage, but have a small sink inside, toilet very clean with washlet. I'll come here again if I back to Kyoto
