        Inexpensive option near upscale restaurants, but has with minimal signage and can be difficult to find. Hotel has no elevator, serves a limited and repetitive breakfast each morning, and provides sporadic customer assistance. Rooms are small, tv has about 200 channels available with only 1 occasionally in English

        A little hotel in the oldtown. The rooms are quite allright. The bed is good and the breakfast is better than expected. The staff is very kind and helpful! There's no elevator in the hotel.

        Booked the hotel in januari for a stay end of april ( F1 GP). After a long flight though the night, taxidrive and walk with suitcases trough theold city I finally arrived at the hotel ( hoping for some rest) I was told the hotel was overbooked and there was no room for me. Ridiculous to find out without any up front notice and for sure they sold my room for better money. They promised me to find another hotel for me. Again walking through the old city wit my suitcases (no help) from hotel to hotel, finally found a hotel that had a room available, and what I could accept.

        sands is central, very clean and affordable. however it is pretty rough around edges and no regard for things like safe not working. breakfast about as meagre as it gets. would likely have given 4 stars as am generous with reviews but we had two different episodes regarding room availability after pre-paying that should have been dealt with much differently by management. on our return to baku will stay elsewhere as there are far better options nearby in this price range.
