Shanghai Jiejia Preferred Hotel

I stayed for one night in transit. Apparently there is a free shuttle bus, but when I called the hotel, they couldn't speak a word of English (they didn't even know the word "bus"), so I ended up taking a taxi to the hotel. I requested the shuttle bus to the airport the next morning in person using a translation app. The room was the most rundown room I've ever seen in Japan. There was a strong smell of cigarettes and there was an insect (a baby centipede?) on the floor that I had never seen before. The futon was quite damp and there were faint stains in some places. All sounds from the next room can be heard. I don't understand it because it's Chinese, but I think everything they say is completely transparent. I was afraid of dust mites, so I lay down on the bed, but I didn't cover myself with a comforter and slept with my own stole. I thought bugs would come out if I darkened my room, so I went to bed with all the lights on. I don't usually stay at business hotels in Japan or hotels below 3 stars in Europe, but this is the result of staying at a hotel in China without knowing much about it as there were few reviews. My goal was achieved as I was able to secure a bed and a shower, but I won't be using it even if I have to transit next time. I don't think this is a problem for backpackers who usually stay in a variety of environments, but I think it's a hotel you should avoid if you only need a minimum of cleanliness. By the way, it's best not to rely on photos at all. I'm sure it's true, but I think it's probably a photo from when the hotel was built, or it's been edited.
