Shizutetsu Hotel Prezio Tokyo Tamachi

Tokyo marked the final stop of our japan trip. We opted for a double room in this hotel due to its generous 20 sqm space, which proved invaluable for accommodating our shopping haul. We extend our appreciation to the staff for their warmth and hospitality. While the lady who assisted us may not have been fluent in English, her eagerness to help us was unmistakable. The room itself was impeccably clean and spacious, with complimentary daily supplies of bottled water. Housekeeping services were diligently provided on a daily basis. Convenience stores such as Lawson, 7-11, and Aeon were conveniently situated in close proximity. In terms of location, the hotel was conveniently within a 10-minute walk from Tamachi station. One notable advantage of this area was its relative lack of overcrowding. Additionally, there was a sizable department store right next to the station.

I always ask myself this after leaving a hotel, "Would I stay here again?" My answer would be no. The location of it was just a bit far from the Tokyo activities. It's honestly not that bad but walking to the train station was a bit far for us. There is a Lawson and 7/11 on the same block and a supermarket across the street. The prepared food in that market doesn't look good at all though. The front desk was nice on the first day as we came before check in rather early. She let us wait in the breakfast room and there was a coffee machine where you can take coffee to go. Like all the other reviews, the hospitality of the front desk is by far the most different I've experienced in Japan. Typically, the front desk would greet you every time you walk in but no one greets you in this hotel. It's rather strange especially for a Japanese hotel and it just felt a bit off putting. Only 2 times did someone say good morning. Other than that they just look at you for a brief moment and not smile afterwards. The breakfast was good and had a good selection. The room was a bit small but glad the hallway space between the bathroom and mirror was wider. We were able to fit 2 large and 2 carry on luggage. Our room was on the same floor as the coin laundry room so it was convenient and the TV display shows which machine was taken. But almost every hour the machines would be full and the longest load can go up to 2 hrs and 15 minutes. At one point I saw people doing laundry before 6am! They had a nice selection of amenities that you choose from the reception area. I love their Pola skincare samples! The hotel is a bit newer and was built in 2020. Nothing in the room looked worn off yet.
