        It was just OK overall. The good: Central location, friendly effective staff, my room was quiet and had been updated, and it had a comfortable bed. The included breakfast had a decent selection. Contrary to some other recent reviews, I didn’t notice any evidence of bedbugs (and I checked). The bad: The room showed some wear and tear, and there were cleanliness issues: fly spots on the curtains, crumbs around the minibar, and a black (ink?) spot on the bedsheet which spread when I tried to wipe it off. The shower had many mildewy spots in various corners and leaked a lot onto the floor.

        In past European travels we have stayed at the Sina Bernini in Rome and the Sant'Angelo in Venice. Both hotels were excellent in every way. Plenty of room, separate area for luggage and good size, well equipped bathroom. Travel forward to the De La Ville on Saturday 18th November 2023 and we were dispassionately shown into a first floor shoe box that over-looked a noisy bar, the TV did not work, there was no place for luggage except the floor and the shower stall was minuscule. The carpet from lift to room was dirty and marked. My impression was that this floor was used to house staff, certainly not well-traveled people. I immediately confronted the reception staff who were unsympathetic telling me that we got what we paid for and that they may be able to move us the following day. The new room was better but not up to our previous experiences. I paid more for this hotel than any other and wish to say that a less expensive hotel in Split ran rings around this hotel. This was a bitter disappointment as the Sina De La Ville was supposed to be the final highlight of this, our third European vacation.         We were 6 people in 3 rooms. We were bitten by bedbugs and 2 out of our 3 rooms was relocated to new rooms in the middle of the night. We found bedbug traps under our beds, so it must be a reoccurring issue. They also forgot to clean 1 of our rooms and did not give us new toilet paper. We received no compensation for this and they tried to charge us for more than the original booking price. The location is great, but would not recommend and highly encourage to check the bed for bedbugs.

        Very unpleasant. Please stay away! Travel agent booked three rooms for three nights over Thanksgiving holiday. Upon arrival one room’s toilet had not been flushed. This was only the first issue with the cleaning staff. The rest of the hotel is underwhelming. The Wi-Fi is practically unusable outside the lobby. None of the room’s air conditioning worked, causing our whole family to wake up throughout the night and resort to propping open windows. There were bed bug traps found under the beds. The worst of it all was the cleaning staff stealing £500 cash from my backpack while we were out of the room. The management staff was unwilling to take any action or claim responsibility. Their only solution was to report it to the police, which solves nothing while being a US citizen visiting abroad. All of these problems seem to be repetitive issues upon reading previous reviews! STAY AWAY!

        The location is great , rooms are good size and clean, we were happy to choose this hotel and location. Sushi restaurant downstaire was great but the breakfast was weak and please add non porc items 👍💯
