Small House Boutique Guest House

Faced an extreme difficulty and had to cut short the stay period. We booked 2 rooms and was given the rooms upstairs ( the entire floor). We were celebrating birthday and another 2 of our joined us. 40 minutes after the cake being cut, one of the staff came advised us that we decrease/ lower the volume of the music as the residents front of the hotel and the guests downstairs had complained. We weren't loud but thinking it might have been the time when we sang the b'day song,,we adhered and lowered the volume. 10 to 15 minutes after the initial warning given comes along another staff member conveying the msg that we had to vacate the rooms. We were shocked as we didn't know what was wrong. As we were discussing among ourselves comes along the boss himself Mr.Shabri with a stern voice he said that he wants the rooms vacated then and there mind you this was around 11.30pm. He was VERY RUDE, didn't excuse when he barged in with no mask ( staff members were well mannered though) invaded the space and when asked to keep distance due to the virus he said " I don't care about a virus, if you want you wear a mask" these exact words made us understand where his beliefs lie. As we wanted to know why we were chased away we wanted to have a conversation with the him and he raised his voice, stating about a noise pollution and he doesn't want any music played and making lame excuses. Then we asked if the music was loud when he entered the building to which he answered " no" and we were not quite sure why he wanted us to leave the premise when he answered NO to the very thing he accused us of. He ruined the vibe and the whole evening. He then wanted to what we were doing the next day which made us very uncomfortable thinking he might rob us. He was not able to answer the questions we asked and was silent for a bit ( that's probably when the reality hit him and made him realise that he was exaggerating) We checked out the next morning. Staff was great BUT the owner was very impolite and rude hence I give 1 star

Reason for 3 star is because the cost of this hotel is too high compared with better options in the fort. The cost is deceiving in booking. Com because it doesnt include substantial taxes. That being said, is a Lovely property and all staff are great. Location is perfect, just 1 minute from many restaurants and shops on pedlar street and surrounding area. I booked a deluxe double room. This place is much nicer than the pictures and was lovely and quiet. Downside was that the wifi connection was very bad, in fact the worst I have experienced. In addition, breakfast is ok but would have been nice to be given a choice or even told what to expect, especially as I dont like to waste food. Lovely property but I wouldn't stay again if the wifi wasnt improved as it was just impossible! When travelling this is a must.
