Soffia Hotel old Baku is one of the best hotels in Baku. It's a very romantic walk approach to this place while car is parked a bit far. The hotel has old school rooms but very neatly maintained. Their restaurant food is also very good but one can walk a bit for more food. Highly recommend if u are looking for a reasonable rates and a decent hotel. They can improve the service levels to be at par for other options around. My rating is 8/10

Upon arriving at the hotel, I encountered a series of disappointing experiences. Despite my booked room not being ready, I secured my belongings and locked the room, only to find that the hotel staff had accessed it without my permission. Throughout my stay, the lack of soundproofing became evident; the incessant noise from the water pump and the constant chatter at the reception made it impossible to get a good night's sleep for two consecutive nights. Realizing the untenable situation, I promptly decided to check out, notifying the reception staff on my first day. However, the receptionist proved unreliable—initially offering an airport transfer for a three-night booking, then denying the commitment the next day. Fortunately, I had a screenshot confirming the offer. Yet, the major issues extended beyond this discrepancy. The room lacked proper ventilation, the outdated TV needed an upgrade, and the absence of soundproofing was highly disruptive. I emphasized the necessity for improvements, especially regarding the incessant noise from the water pump. After an arduous confrontation with the receptionist, I requested a refund for the third day. This ordeal prompted me to involve the authorities, ensuring that my grievances were addressed.

Awful Place. Everything’s broken. Smells bad. Showers not plumbed in. Breakfast is questionable. So noisy. Things broken in rooms, no room change of towels or beds made. Credit card machines “broken”. Do not stay here.

Soffia hotel was a perfect place to stay in a quiet part of the Old City (Icherisheher) and is just a five minute walk downhill to the Maiden Tower. The hotel is also a few minutes walk from the Icherisheher metro station. If you're looking to stay in a relaxed environment, with a stunning view from your room (pictured here) and don't mind small inconveniences, this is a great place to stay. The main staff were very friendly and spoke some English. We stayed several days for $35USD a night. Each day walking to and from the hotel was incredibly beautiful, but you have to be ready to walk uphill on cobblestone for a few minutes. It might seem like a maze navigating the winding small streets at first, but after a day or so it is easy and quite enjoyable. I would love to come back.
