        After deciding to come to Sydney for a couple of days before joining the family for Christmas celebrations we chose to stay here as we hadn't been here for many years. We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay. We were given a room on the top floor that was a good size for 2 nights. As I'm a platinum member we were able to arrange a late check-out of 1PM The staff in Club Sofitel were great to interact with. We enjoyed been able to relax in the lounge between outings. We also enjoyed the food and drinks in the lounge. It would have been nice to have baked beans available, but they weren't really missed. All the other staff we talked to were friendly and helpful. The only minor problem was when we arrived the man who directed me to the parking didn't mention getting the ticket validated. I found out the next morning when I asked at the desk about whether I paid the parking station direct or the hotel.

        Easy check-in process. Room upgraded, as part of my ALL gold status, which was nice. Room was spacious and clean. Bed was comfortable but a bit too soft for my liking. Buffet breakfast was nice with a good selection of items on offer. Location is good and close to Circular Quay.

        Service was friendly but lacking attention to detail. Room was very small and looking extremely tired. Breakfast was good and offered lots of variety. Extremely disappointed with the dinners we had at The Garden Court Restaurant. Also, for a five star hotel you would expect it to have a gym and swimming pool. This was not good value and we felt they were trying to make as much money before they closed for the refit! Really hope standards improve after the refurbishment.

        I loved my time at the Sofitel. Staff were absolutely fantastic. Hotel is beautiful. Room was large and had a small balcony that you could step out on to. Soirée was a great place for a nice drink after a busy day out. It also served light meals. The Garden restaurant was fabulous for breakfast. I didn’t go for dinner as it is only open Tuesday to Saturday nights. My overall experience was terrific and would definitely stay again.

        visited December 2023 (NYE) A (hopefully free) bottle of champagne was waiting for us in our room for our New Years Eve check in. The check in staff was great, and the process was typical and easy. The room itself was very nice with everything you'd expect for an upscale hotel room. Note that the room did include a US style two-prong plug outlet in the bathroom. The view was ok, but better views can probably be bought with a more expensive room. Would certainly stay again.

          It is mandatory for all guests to present valid government photo ID’s at the time of check-in.
