Sonder Midtown South

First off, this is not your typical hotel. If you’re looking for the traditional hotel experience, this is not the hotel for you. I booked directly from the Sonder website, so your experience might be different from mine. When you book a room, you are given a code to get into the hotel lobby and your room. I’d recommend downloading the Sonder app to use your phone as a key to get in. There is no front desk. When you enter you can do direct to your room. There is also no housekeeping service. You can request to have a cleaning for a fee (I believe the first one is free). This is actually very nice as we typically don’t require housekeeping at all when we stay at hotels. If you need anything replaced there are areas where you can stock up on toiletries. Our room was a fantastic studio. We loved it! We had a full kitchen with dishes, silverware and cookwear. And it was very nice to have a king size bed. Location is pretty good. It’s downtown Atlanta near Midtown, so we expected some noise. They do provide earplugs for sleeping if you need them (which we didn’t). We could hear some noise from other rooms, and the gym was right across the hallway from us so we heard someone slamming a medicine ball. Other than that it was pretty quiet. Overall we had a great experience here. Hands-off, clean, and perfect for our 4 night stay. And the price was pretty decent too.

I want to highlight my recent experience at the Sonder hotel in Atlanta, Georgia, to inform fellow travelers and potential guests. I had significant concerns regarding multiple health and safety issues during my stay, and I was disappointed by the lack of empathy shown by the customer service team. From check-in, it was clear that this establishment did not meet my expectations. Starting with noise and obstruction issues in the hallway and entrance. Upon entering my room, I immediately noticed a strong smell of fumes and mold. As I continued inspecting, I was shocked to find extensive mold in my assigned room. As a responsible parent, my top priority is my child's safety and health. Unfortunately, the mold-infested environment not only posed a serious health risk to my child, who has asthma, but also affected the quality of our entire stay. I reported issues with obstruction, noise, mold, and fumes to your customer service. However, instead of addressing these concerns, I experienced gaslighting and was told that I was already aware of these problems before booking. Additionally, my request for a refund was denied. After an intense hour of arguing and advocating for my rights, I ultimately succeeded in obtaining a refund. These policy changes appear to have been made in direct response to my concerns. This acknowledgment of the validity of my complaints raises the question of why these changes were not implemented earlier to prevent the negative experience I had to endure. Therefore, I provided evidence to substantiate my claims, leading to my decision to give this hotel a rating of 0 stars. These documents not only outline the specific incidents I experienced but also serve as a warning for others to exercise caution when considering the Sonder hotel as their accommodation choice.
