My recent stay at this hotel was marred by a concerning incident that raised serious security issues. Arriving late at night after a business meeting, I encountered a distressing situation where the key card provided to me opened the door of a room in a different property of the same chain. Walking in, I was startled to find someone else in the room, which was an alarming breach of privacy and safety. The proximity of three properties within such a short distance seems impractical and led to a mix-up that could have resulted in a dangerous outcome, especially considering the late hour. It was a terrifying moment that highlighted a significant flaw in the hotel’s security system. After this unsettling experience, I promptly informed a staff member at the correct property about the incident the next morning. However, the gravity of this oversight cannot be overstated. The potential risks associated with such a security lapse are deeply concerning, and I strongly urge the management to take immediate steps to ensure the safety and privacy of their guests. This incident was not only unsettling but also potentially hazardous. I implore the hotel management to reassess their security measures and prevent such alarming mishaps in the future. It’s crucial to prioritize the safety and well-being of guests by ensuring that key cards function only in the designated property they are issued for. It’s a matter of basic security that should never be compromised.

Last week, I stayed at this location room #125 and from the pictures it looked like a really nice location however I was disappointed due to a number of factors. I asked for a quiet room and was given one next to the door and stairs, definitely not a quiet room. Breakfast did not start till 7 am and many other hotels or extended stays start around 6 or 630 am. The breakfast itself was fine the normal buffet found at most extended stay: pancakes, bread, eggs, oatmeal, cereal, coffee, tea. Facilities needed work, the fire pit I was looking forward to using was not working, it had a broken glass bottle inside and was full of cigarette butts, and missing half the heating rocks. The outdoor sports court was missing the basketball goal. One of the external doors on an adjoining building would not open with the room card so you could exit but needed to go around to the other side of the building to get in or pass through to get to your other building. A number of people were complaining so people ended up putting something in the door to keep it from closing (security?). My room had most of the dishes in the dish washer with dried food on the utensils, plates, lipstick on several glasses when i arrived. There was food under the eating bar that had been missed in the cleaning. There was some spots with dried blood in the shower that mostly came off from running the shower. There was some hair in the shower from previous guests. There were deep multiple scratches down the wall from where people had dragged suitcases and hit the wall in the room going to the bathroom. On the side of the nightstand with the alarm it looked like someone blew their nose or something else and it would be nice if it was cleaned. I alerted the front desk manager when I left and was told that he would let the general manager know that the room was not properly cleaned. There are cheaper places to stay with the same number of stars that do not charge $6 a day to park that are kept up better in Atlanta. The location was good being close to the mall and restaurants. At this point, I don't know that I will stay at the Sonesta chain but for sure not at this particular location.
