        I am a Marriott gal through and through and travel a lot for work. My experience at this hotel was notably bad. It started off really great with a very professional and nice team that checked me in. I had an event I had to rush to after I checked in, so did not inspect the room as I normally do. After returning from my event, it was late, and I was tired. To my surprise the room was so dirty!! The only clean thing in the room was the bed/ sheets. The previous guest's room key was still sitting on the coffee table. The night and tv stands were both very dirty and sticky. I had to put a towel down on the night stand so even put my phone and personal belongings down. The towels were just thrown on the shelf in the bathroom in a ball. I couldn't even use the fridge. Upon opening it, there was a HORRIBLE smell that came from it. My room was right next to the train track. Shame on myself for not checking the area prior to booking. The train was loud and came through with horns blaring A LOT!!!!! I didn't mention anything to the staff until in the morning. I was too exhausted to do anything that night. The staff apologized and offered me a free water or two. I will not be returning to this hotel during my next work visit.

        We stayed here for several days for a wedding and family visits. I have zero complaints about the room and only praise for the staff. We were lucky to have a room facing the river, so we weren't awakened by the long freight train that passed by on the tracks. Then again, those that complained were likely resting poorly after a rowdy wedding and the rowdy follow-up carousing in the nearby restaurants and bars. I got up early the next morning and took a brisk hike on the river-side trail. By the way, the breakfast was higher quality than most I've sampled in other hotels. The only downside is that parking isn't free.

        It's easy to write a 5-star review when everything goes according to plan. That was not the case on my recent trip to Pittsburgh. Due to weather, the first leg of my flight was delayed four hours, I missed the connecting flight resulting in a 5 hour layover, and finally, when I arrived to the hotel after midnight, the King studio I had reserved was not available. The hotel was full, and I was getting the last room. This is when the 5-star experience began. Giving good news is easy, but from that very first broken hearted moment, I felt I was in good hands. The night attendant was apologetic and expressed genuine concern for the mixup. She took notes to make things right the next day, and when I came down for breakfast, she had an update right away and a solution lined up. That afternoon, the front desk knew who I was and the correct room was ready. That evening, they remembered me by name, and had a couple suggestions for exploring the area nearby, leaving me feeling not like I had an ok night at an ok hotel, but that I had the best night at a world class resort. To be totally honest, after my rugged travel day, I was ready to let somebody have it, but this was a masterclass in customer service. Michael and the staff at SpringHill Suites handled the hiccup above and beyond expectation. A situation that could have torpedoed my whole trip, instead excelled in every way. Don't pinch me, and don't wake me up, I want to live in this dream for just couple more snooze cycles.

        We had a really nice stay here for a wedding a block away. There was construction in the lobby but the rooms seemed brand new. We heard one train in the afternoon and no others. We thought the bed was super comfy and the breakfast was good. Usually hotel coffee is not great but this was the best hotel coffee I've ever had!! I read some critical reviews before staying here and was hesitant, but I'm glad we stayed. Everything was perfect and I had to give an update!

        What a terrible place to stay. Our room was right next to the train tracks and all night long trains were going by blaring their horns. So, if you value actually getting sleep, I would not recommend staying here - check the other reviews on this topic. I asked for another room and they said there weren't any. Why would they ever let people stay in those rooms, and charge a premium and not even tell them that they shouldn't expect to get any sleep? Then to top it off, my wife went down for coffee at 6:45 am, and got yelled at by the reception that it doesn't open until 7:00. Really? I like staying at Marriott hotels because they are usually clean and decent price, but I would never stay at this hotel ever again, in fact, not sure if I'll be going back to a Marriott, period. I wanted to tell someone at the front desk when we checked out in the morning, but no one was around. Two nights of no sleep for over $600, thanks Marriott.
