It was fine. Not spotlessly clean, but not bad. Good shower, nice to have a living space. The underfloor heating was on 25 and I had to switch it off and open all the windows to try and make it bearable. Please, please don’t set it so high again!!

Excellent 3 night stay at one of the apartments here. Much better than a simple hotel room. Shops and restaurants nearby as well as some nice bars. Will certainly consider returning when I come back to Edinburgh

Really nice apartments, we booked 2, 2 bedroom apartments for a 40th. They're really well equipped, clean and the beds are comfy. The only negative would be the rooms were very very hot. The thermostat seemed to be set at 24-25, we asked for them to be turned down but it stayed very hot the whole time. Other than that, really positive. About 15/20 mins walk into the middle of town, about 30 to Waverley Station.

This was the third Staycity we have been at, and really enjoyed the experience. We were there for about 6 nights. Communication before our arrival was very good. We were happy as well to "win" a bid to upgrade our room in advance, and we ended up with a full two-bedroom. TONS of space - which we really appreciated when I fell ill and wanted to separate a bit from the others. Beds - including the sofa bed - were all comfortable. The service via Whatsapp is very good. What is found in the apartment upon arrival is perhaps a bit stingy, but the reception was super generous with whatever we asked for - dish soap, towels, etc. On New Year's Eve, there were two men arguing outside our building. It eventually escalated into violence, and I texted the reception. They got back to me within a minute with essentially the perfect response - asking me to stay inside, while they go out to check the situation and call the police. As soon as they responded, two officers were on the scene (someone else must have already called them) and soon enough, another two were also there. I was impressed by how quickly they arrived. The Staycity rep also told me that their reception is staffed 24/7 and they have overnight security. Overall, even with this altercation, I feel like the area is safe. We saw lots of tourists around the area. It could be a bit better lit mid/late afternoon as the lamps don't seem to turn on until evening, but aside from that, I would not hesitate to stay in the area again. The hotel is serviced by a few bus stations nearby and is a super easy walk to the city centre. As others have noted, our apartment was not in perfect condition. Were I staying long-term, there are certainly items I would want fixed - mostly cosmetic in nature. But for the week I was there, there were not any issues that really bothered me. Quite recommend this place if you are looking for a place with lots of space to stay in Edinburgh!
