        Definitely one of the best hotels not just in Kyoto but in Japan. It scores highly on the aesthetic, the spatial elements, the location, the service. It is hard to find fault with this place. Centrally located yet a picture of tranquility and serenity. With the rooftop bar, it really is the cherry at the top of the icing of this cake.

        We spent a night there for a celebration mostly to enjoy the rooftop bar just to hear that it was blocked for external customer private party. We were even declined the possibility to give a look at the view while they were preparing. The level of frustration considering the price was enormous. You better check booking status of rooftop before booking as they do not value stayibg customer that much.

        I wish I could give this hotel 10 stars. During our trip we stayed in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka and this was the best hotel we stayed at by far! The service was amazing, the rooms were beautiful, the food was delicious, and the location was great. I see other people giving negative reviews due to the language barrier and honestly I don’t understand why. All the staff was able to communicate effectively. Sure there were times where they had to pause to remember certain words but we never felt like it difficult to communicate with each other. Also, we are in Japan! Getting upset because English isn’t their first language is like going to France and being upset that they don’t speak Japanese. Next time we travel to Kyoto there is no doubt in my mind that we will be staying here again.

        The hotel is very close to Kiyomizu Temple, Sannenzaka and many souvenir shops. The hotel is new, clean, and modern. I like every detail; however, I think the service is lacking for a 4-star hotel. I would expect more punctuality for house cleaning. They asked me what time we should clean our room tomorrow. I told them at 10:00 a.m., but I went out and came back by 14:30 my room still undone. Other than that perfect.

        This is the hotel we're gonna stay at every time we come back to Kyoto. Hands down one of the best hotels in Kyoto. Even better than the Ritz and Park Hyatt that we felt were more commercial and lacking the soul that The Seiryu has. To add to it's charm, there's excellent coffee shops just right outside the hotel. My husband and I had a the loveliest time here.

          Booking Policy
          It is mandatory for all guests to present valid government photo ID’s at the time of check-in.
          The primary guests check-in into the hotel must meet the age requirements set by either the local government or the hotel’s policies.

          If guests are traveling with a child or children, it is necessary to specify the number of children accompanying them during the hotel booking process to avoid any last-minute complications.
          Underage guests are only allowed to check-in with at least one parent or official guardian who fulfils the age requirements set by either the local government or the hotel’s policies.
          Early check-in or late check-out request is subject to availability and the hotel may charge an additional fee for providing such services.
