The Mareeya Place

Lovely place. Close to all amenities. Spotless rooms. Shower is excellent with both waterfall and hand held shower head. Water hot and good pressure. Frank and Ann are Lovely. Nothing is too much trouble. Friendly and happy to recommend places to eat/visit. They supply umbrellas, beach sandals and towels free of charge. Fabulous restaurant just across the road. I will definitely stay again sometime soon.

2-star hotel?! 555 (LOL in Thai)! When I arrived, Frank spotted me from across the road, greeting his neighbours with good morning and doing his late morning round. It was a love at first sight, and I could not believe it when he told me his age (not going to reveal it here..). To me he looked younger by at least 15 years. He let me park in his own parking space, which was cordially unexpected. Frank is kind, cheerful, happy, always smiling, a great story teller, gives life-changing tips for free (I learnt a lot by just listening to him and observing him especially with guests), good listener, a bad passenger (only according to him, since I did not sense he was not comfortable as a passenger in my car), likes challenges, has a life experience of at least 3 (different) persons (competitive ballroom dancer, car racer, and more - all at almost the same time - each area enough for a single person that only scratches just a tiny bit of a single activity, but Frank dominates them all), a great partner to the upside down house experience (this is when you will see the youngster comes out to play), the best escape room team player (only a few days after I met him for the first time) and.... did I forget to mention how he loves to talk? Only because I got late to breakfast after my first night with them, I ate breakfast outside the hotel, which was also a recommended restaurant by Frank, not far, on walking distance, but if you include breakfast, you will definitely be satisfied with Ann's cooking and will not have to look elsewhere. Mentioning breakfast is a direct lead to tell about Ann, the caring wife and mother, the strong woman (I told her that even before listening to her life struggles), with her own life experience worth hearing, juggling between all chores when Frank was abroad. I stayed long enough to see and hear guests extending their stay by no less than at least two nights and sometimes even for a second or third time, and several returning customers. I booked only one night, as I always do in order to see if I like the hotel and the area around. Frank did not hesitate to say that I will definitely love it, and for a moment it could seem as if he was advertising, but soon I discovered that I enjoyed so much, I extended by a week and then for a couple of more extensions even before the first period of my stay was through. That led me to a total of 37 nights staying with Ann and Frank @The Mareeya Place. It's not about the money, and here it is definitely not at all about the money. You cannot value what you get for your money, because there are certain benefits that so far I have never seen in other places. Ann and Frank always treated their guests equally, serving the last guests as courteous as their first. This wonderful adventure with you comes only once in life. * disclaimer for the readers: if you feel like the review is mostly related to Ann and Frank, I would say that it is one of those rare cases where you cannot separate the soul of the owners from the property.
