        Porter House had its pros and cons but it is definitely not a 5 star hotel especially compared to the other hotels we stayed at during our trip in Australia. This hotel would be more acceptably rated as a 3 star hotel but the pricing is comparable to 5 star hotels. The pros are that the hotel decor is very modern and new and the hotel is located in a decent location in proximity to all major touring sites. The cons are the service and cleanliness. There was noticeable dust in our room and the hallways smelt like rubber tires (not a nice scent to smell for 4 days). On top of that, one day the cleaning staff threw out a bag of some belongings we purchased which included chocolates from hunter valley. I understand it was a mistake and appreciate that they made an error but the hotel wasn’t apologetic. Instead, they decided to have the cleaning staff scavenge through the garbage to find our bag and brought it up to our room an hour later. Overall it was just not a good experience especially since we were expecting a 5 star stay after paying 5 star rates. My recommendation would be to stay at another 5 star hotel in Sydney.

        One of the best boutique property I've stayed at in Sydney. Breakfast was exceptional, staff were accommodating of preferences and friendly. Enjoyed the location of the hotel as well as the hi tech room itself. Pool is a little on the small side. Accor status and benefits were applied.

        The hotel was nice but not a 5 star hotel. There was a ton of construction while I was there and the access to the different restaurants and bars on different days and having to use totally seperate elevators from different sides of the hotel was very confusing. The restaurant staff was the best. They made my entire two weeks stay fabulous. I wished there was a better sitting chair in my room to be able to work on my computer, but I was able to access the restaurant as a working place. The amenities in the room were very nice but i ran out of body wash and condiitioner and that wasn't ever refilled. I could have called downstairs for someone to come refill, but I literally worked from the minute I woke up to the minute I laid to sleep. The gym was nice but I couldn't connect to the TV or the speakers in the room nor was there any water available. The coffee in my room was nice and the new carton of milk in the fridge hit the spot every morning. I used the dry cleaning and everything came out perfect. The price seemed to be good but I would have liked to have dinner at the hotel without spending $100 for a meal. Location was nice and I was near the park and Surry Hill and a mile walk away from the Opera House which I got to visit on the weekend. All in all, the place was nice and I plan on staying there again in a couple weeks when I am back again.

        We absolutely loved our stay here. The hotel rooms are gorgeous (especially the bathrooms!) and the restaurants, bar and cafe are beautiful. The breakfast and Dixon and Son was delicious and the coffee was great. Absolutely couldn’t ask for anything more from our stay. The place is very reasonably priced when compared to other hotels in the area too. We will be back for sure.

        Beautifully renovated heritage building. Given the location, the rooms look out to the next door office buildings, so have to keep the blinds closed at all times. The food here is exceptional with friendly staff from FOH to F&B outlets. The location is very convenient next to bus & train stations.
