Kudos to the stellar customer service here! Booked through a 3rd party, who switched our room without a heads-up. But the team at The Scholar set us up in this fantastic gatehouse at The Scott. The gatehouse is a gem, beautifully designed with luxurious amenities. Highly recommend booking at The Scott—make sure to experience the gatehouse, it's a splurge that's totally worth it. Big thanks for making our vacation awesome. Special shoutout to the wonderful Mr. Greg, who was not just lovely but also super understanding. Also breakfast was amazing!

We enjoyed a good stay in December! The bed is very comfortable. Spacious room and bathroom. The toiletries are nice! Walk to city centre within 30 min or take the bus just off the road.

The hotel was pleasant with nice, friendly staff. The restaurant was outstanding. We had a wonderful waiter who made our night. The single room was functional but quite compact. The lighting was dreadful in both the main and bathroom areas. Simply not enough lights in the room. The bed was comfortable and the housekeeping was very good.

The Scholar is utterly fantastic. Location, staff, restaurant, the rooms, everything. I had lived in Pollock Halls as a youth, and so didn't really expect that a luxury hotel could be created in one of those "Houses". But U of E has succeeded in doing so. Special praise for the front desk staff (who patiently extricated me from a booking error of my own making) and the restaurant (I can't say enough great things about the breakfast, for which I quite uncharacteristically woke up at 700am each day). Superb. It appears I have a lot of Edinburgh in my future, and this is where I want to stay on returning to the city.

Lovely location with on-site parking and within walking distance of the city. All staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to fulfill a couple of special requests. Room was quiet and comfortable and meals were tasty.

Booking Policy

It is mandatory for all guests to present valid government photo ID’s at the time of check-in.

The primary guests check-in into the hotel must meet the age requirements set by either the local government or the hotel’s policies.

Extra guests are subject to availability. And it might incur additional charges.

If guests are traveling with a child or children, it is necessary to specify the number of children accompanying them during the hotel booking process to avoid any last-minute complications.

Underage guests are only allowed to check-in with at least one parent or official guardian who fulfils the age requirements set by either the local government or the hotel’s policies.

Early check-in or late check-out request is subject to availability and the hotel may charge an additional fee for providing such services.

The price paid to Adani One includes room charges, taxes, the specified inclusions mentioned during the booking and convenience fee, if appliable. It does not cover additional services and expenses at the hotel.

Taxes, levies, charges, and any similar government fees, if applicable, will be imposed by the relevant authorities in the jurisdiction where the hotel is located. The guest is responsible for paying all such charges, as applicable.

Guests are required to adhere to any special instructions provided by the hotel. Failure to comply may result in the hotel's right to deny the booking or terminate the stay immediately.

Hotel Cancellation Policy

User can cancel their booking through the Adani One website or app until the check-in date and time. The refund for such cancellations will be subject to the hotel's cancellation policy. Adani One has no say over the refund amount.

Users can only cancel the entire booking. Partial cancellations, such as canceling specific room(s), a portion of the total nights, or specific guests out of the entire group, are not permitted.

User should not cancel the booking directly with the hotel. If a user cancels the booking directly with the hotel, Adani One will not be responsible for any refund.

Cancellation requests made through the online platform or via phone calls are the only valid and accepted methods.

Any cancellation requests made directly to the hotel will not be the responsibility of Adani One.

If you fail to cancel your reservation within the designated cancellation period, as specified by the hotel you booked, you will be responsible for paying the applicable nightly rates, tax recovery charges, and service fees imposed by the hotel. If you do not show up for the first night of your reservation but still plan to check in for the remaining nights, you must inform Adani One of any changes to your reservation no later than the scheduled arrival date for the first night. This is necessary to prevent the cancellation of your entire reservation.

In case of no show at the hotel, you'll be charged the entire booking amount.

Modification and Reschedule Policy

Once the booking is initiated, the user can’t change the name of primary guest, number of guests, age of child/children, number of rooms, and check-in/check-out date and time.

After the booking is confirmed, user will need to cancel their existing booking to create a new one to make any changes such as updating the primary guest, modifying the number of guests, specifying the age of child/children, adjusting the number of rooms, or changing the check-in/check-out date and time etc.
